a very poorly made renfaire style somewhat-embroidered drawstring bag with four tassels
The Bag of Eight Mistakes:
1. what is chain stitch
2. what's historical accuracy
3. lining inside out
4. should not have sewn the band in that high
5. holes for drawstrings BEFORE the lining
6. fingerloop braiding in the dark
7. tassels shorter than expected
8. how TF do I wrap a tassel
Spotting a fellow RPG fan -> about two hours -> there are now too many index cards.
This game of Microscope brought to you by waiting to get called for jury duty.
An embroidery project with chain stitched four point stars. The left stars are very irregular, they improve to the right across the practice piece.
Gotta be bad at something before you're good at it. And oh boy, are my chain stitches irregular. :D
At Fracture, I had people sign my IC journal. Some signed it as their last words, some after their characters died and were reborn, some wrote to their past selves, some went full summer camp yearbook. One person was inspired to start their own IC journal! I'm keeping the final prop forever. :)
English Muffins, unsliced, showing some browning from the frying pan.
English muffin, very bread-like texture. Could be a roll.
English Muffin, bread-like texture.
Proper English muffin texture.
Ongoing English Muffin baking attempts have finally produced some proper nooks and crannies. Little bit of extra protein and water did the trick.
embroidery thread and work in progress, blue, grey and red or gold purse, hoop, and related papers.
medieval-style drawstring purse in progress. I can always use another craft project, right?
Not a bad problem to have! Do you do sheets in sections? I do a size limit per section, which has been working for me so far... but I don't have the six pages of prose problem, either.
sounds worth reading. you should finish it :)
If it's a useful additional kick, what would this mysterious book happen to be?
hooray! return of the most beautiful comic!
all of software development, chiming in with the same problem
First intercon waitlist slot ticking over into a signup... probably not the last.
Would be excited to see a game project from you!
Four nickles is really a lot of nickles for the relevant saying. But hey, race you to finishing a personal game project. (Also a 2024 goal I failed) 🏁
When I say, "One of my preferred tools is milestones," what I mean is: the pattern demands to be complete. I can't have little catchy phrases for half the characters; I must have them for every character. The empty page is easy to ignore, but the itch of completion and momentum? Never.
Getting to read all my descriptions makes up for the struggle though. Some evil wizards: "an absolute champion paper-pusher," "sometimes called ‘The Peace Treaty of Buenos Aires’," "a distiller who could hand you Mozart’s 41st Symphony in a bottle as easily as he could pass over some elemental fire"
But at the same time, that milestone is just one of three sections in the settings document. So really I'm at 6/7 for part 1, 0/? for part 2, and then 22/30 for part 3 of settings. 3/15 for character sheets, and then 0/? again for supporting materials. Being my own product manager is rough.
Still thinking about a discord discussion on finishing games-- ideas are easy, writing the fun parts is easy, but very few people say finishing is easy. One of my preferred tools is milestones. I'm at 22/30 short character descriptions in my current project, so close to the milestone that it ITCHES.

ordered! Will be very pleased to have an easy copy to show people
I bought ad-free and am happily out there consuming SCA costuming, interesting ceramics, and more art, more art, more art forever. Every now and then, someone jumps through my tags for the smallest fandom I've ever been in and favorites everything. It's a joy.
loaf!!! 🍞
Sometimes I am tempted to score my life by how many people are using my drawings of them or their characters as profile pictures.
it does not look like this right now. But half the herbs will overwinter and I'll see them again next year!
A windowsill with houseplants on the inside and a large box of herbs on the outside, densely green with varied leaf shapes.
My window box herb garden, a memory of greener seasons.
that's so beautiful. what a dream of a balcony!
