Shocked that Mikal Bridges didn't take that driving angle, that's so unlike him.

Nice I've now been to both
A tall, mid-range loving, borderline All-Star Raptors wing struggling and inspiring tons of discourse against the Cavs? That'd never happen
I'll be posting here as well as @theathletic.com game page using the discuss feature. Let's hope for a more interesting game than Saturday.
ah ok that makes sense.
Possibly dumb question: Wouldn't it be weird if a robot couldn't beat a human? The robot can't get tired.

People smarter than me: What's the long-term vision with Iriafen, Betts and Austin in the same frontcourt?

The solution, to me, is to go back to the pre-2019 system and restrict pick protections to top-3 or lottery, while penalizing anti-competitive behavior more harshly and perhaps setting aside a pot of national TV money to be doled out proportionally based on the previous season's win percentage.
IMO these new measures will making tanking worse, not better.
We're more likely to get 10 great teams and 20 terrible ones because the 20 see the lottery as their best chance to win a title. Why strive for 50 wins and a 2nd-round exit when you can win 35 and guarantee a chance to get that prize?
I'm watching a game where the home team is wearing orange on their blue court against an opponent wearing blue.

You think late-season tanking shenanigans are new? Nope.
I joined a couple of our Athletic writers to recall the most shameless tanking games we've ever covered. Justice for Cedric Jackson! www.nytimes.com/athletic/713...

Not sure which SGA 127-game streak stat is more impressive:
-Only 13 games scoring less than 25 points
-Only 11 games where he got his 20th point in the 4th quarter
-His FG% during the streak was HIGHER than Wilt's during his streak
-He scored between 25 and 40 in 100 (likely 101) of the 127 games
Love this sport. When it delivers, it DELIVERS
Nor that
You can't defend that any better
The most incredible thing to me about SGA's 126-game 20+ point streak?
He got to the 20-point mark before the fourth quarter 115 times. www.nytimes.com/athletic/710...
It felt like 75% of that quarter involved Jalen Brunson dribbling.
This game reminds me of the Spurs-Thunder Christmas game. Wemby owned the rim on defense, while the Spurs guards went right at the physical Thunder defenders over and over.
