FREE MEENU BATRA

Absolutely cannot stop watching the show Neighbors on HBO - it highlights community feuds but is mostly a meditation on the absurdity of the human condition/social contract. Recommend!
Happy 4/20 - no one should be criminalized for cannabis! Free our friends!
What is *anybody* doing there
“It feels bizarre,” she said. “I don’t know how else to put it. Here I am just staring at the wall wondering what exactly I’m doing here but also what is anybody doing here.”
FREE THEM ALL
“Then, last month, immigration agents at Harlingen international airport stopped her and put her in handcuffs, and transferred her to El Valle detention facility in Raymondville.”
Free my fellow Texan Meenu Batra immediately.
“Meenu Batra is the only licensed Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu court interpreter in the state, and has served as an interpreter for hundreds of people in immigration court.

Thank you angel!!!
I’m so defeated, y’all! Truly and honestly.
It’s called The Abortion Companion: An Affirming Handbook for Your Choice & Your Journey. It’s the book I needed when I had my abortion. 1 in 4 people who can get pregnant will have an abortion in their lifetime. Abortion stigma and shame is everywhere. This isn’t niche.
Just found out the book I poured my literal soul (and the past several years) into has sold less than 500 copies in the first 3 months - this is when I go to convalesce by the sea, right?
Might delete later, idk!
So, in case you need it: being confident in our paths and decisions doesn’t preclude us from thinking or talking about other ones. Whatever you want for you is what I want for you 🩷
We are a one-child household, happily and by choice. And also, right now I’m in a season of daydreaming about another path - one where we add another. My mind has been wandering through the logistics, my dreams, fears, tons of beautiful possibilities. But at the end of the day, I know what I want.
This means SO much to me, thank you for your kindness!
I’m spending my next season of work leaning into the food side - please reach out if you’d like to cook/bake up fun things together!
Okay but I absolutely understand how Ann Lee came to the conclusions she did!
Instead of the Lindy discourse can y’all please chat among yourselves about my new book THE ABORTION COMPANION: An Affirming Handbook for Your Choice & Your Journey? It features zero bad partners.
Boston and Portland, ME friends: I hope to see you this week on my last leg of book tour!

I’d like to read something about mid/later life trad wives - can any of y’all recommend something like that? I’m interested in understanding their inner worlds post young children (hobby reading!).
Apropos of nothing, 1 in 4 people who can get pregnant will have an abortion in their lifetime. If you’re asking for a free copy, that’s absolutely fine - I want this in everyone’s hands! But never ever say to me “I just don’t see it being used enough to justify the cost”.
I am so lucky to be surrounded by so many safe and wonderful women.
I don’t usually waste my time thinking about men. But I feel compelled to share that I can count the number of men I truly trust with my life on one hand while I can name dozens of women.
It’s worth noting that my two professional communities - repro rights/justice advocates and bakers - are mainly made up of women. I’m reflecting on the layer of insulation that gives me from some forms of violence.
And watching your community and the broader world sanctify the person who harmed you must be an incredibly lonely kind of trauma. It makes me so deeply sad for each survivor.
I really appreciated @amylittlefield.bsky.social’s writing on this in KILLERS OF ROE - she talked about how men in positions of power who publicly do good works/ostensibly agree with us can and do weaponize that goodwill/closeness to harm us in private.
If you are a r*pist you are unfit to lead a movement, full stop. I hate that Dolores was forced to make a choice between her work and her safety.
I’m so sad and so angry for Dolores and all survivors.
