F1 is letting people deploy their MGU-Ks if they can't spool the turbos enough at the race start.

The MGU-H is the dead wife at the start of the movie. Feel like shit just want her back and nothing can truly replace her. We mourn.

He's a very spectacular racing driver which I don't mind most weekends because the racing in Indycar is usually good fun to watch but at Long Beach I feel like given the general soporific effects of the event I much prefer a less expected victor

a person holding a bag with a note that says dead dove do not eat Alt: a person holding a bag with a note that says dead dove do not eat

Long Beach deeply dull race and then a Palou win.

Even Scott Dixon saying he feels for Felix goddamn we all wanted this for him. Can Palou lend him his Etsy witch for like... one weekend

A pit stop sketch at the admittedly rather boring Grand Prix of Long Beach

Life is so good. I have Lotterer back on my WEC stream (yes he finished last in the session no I do not care) my beautiful Pew Joe has qualified well (huge day Peugeot nation) and also also, Peter Dempsey was the real surprise of the session for me. What a debut

Today's daily 2 minute sketch. Because what is life if not a journey from waiting room to waiting room

Today's 2 minute doodle is posted by my JOY that WEC is coming back this weekend. I am so ready, even if I miss having Porsche there.

Why did it eat my alt text :(

The first drawing is a very loose vertical composition of a car in pit road for Nascar's race at Bristol, looking out from behind the wall as the crew changes tires.

The second drawing is a loose horizontally composed sketch of the waiting room in a doctor's office.

PLEASE FORGIVE I forgot to post yesterday's daily sketch here, it's a pitstop from Bristol. Also here is today's little doodle of a waiting room as well.

Daily 2 min sketches 5: Was out and my pen was fully out of ink so I used a felt tip marker and a colored pencil for this one. Don't love it, but we deal with it. Before then, in the morning, I drew a little picture Nielsen Racing posted of their LMP2 racing. Had to dilute the ink to finish it lol

Daily sketches 2: I've been in a very Star Wars mood recently in spite of the deeply frustrating nature of keeping track of the franchise and how underwhelmed I was by the Maul show debut. So instead I treated myself to some Andor 2 minute sketching, because it just delights me that it exists.

Going to start posting some of my daily warmup sketches on here, this was today's when I drew a kitchen. 2 minutes on a timer and the pen goes down when time is up. Did this with a Pentel aquash light black pen, had a good time.

2 VERY quick sketches I did, do forgive the brush pen jitters. Sometimes getting dragged along to a religious event for a religion you don't really do anymore is a good doodle opportunity.

I'm giving laurels for P2 in the F1 WDC: Alberto Ascari, P2 in 1951

Ascari's story aches of what could have been, but his runner up season was above all a harbinger of things to come: Alfa Romeo's post-war dominance ending as Ferrari rose.

The only back-to-back Ferrari champion before Schumacher

Why Max Verstappen gave me my marching orders from a press conference | Giles Richards Max Verstappen’s ultimatum blindsided me, but there are more serious issues than an F1 driver being cross with you for doing your job

Giles Richards is a kinder person than I am bc if a public figure paid millions of dollars was so mad about a very expected question I asked months ago that he publicly kicked me out of a press conference without communicating that earlier, I would be furious.

I had a VERY GOOD TIME watching the 12 hours of Sebring and I took the last 2 hours of race to be supremely distracted by Kevin Estre and Antonio Fuoco crimes while drawing this little golden hour doodle. It's a very loose sketch, but the colors make me happy.

I'm giving laurels for P2 in the F1 WDC. I've decided to draw all of them, because sometimes finishing second is a more compelling story.

We start with Fangio, whose resemblance to a certain world leader rn is Not My Fault. He was a runner-up twice, 1950 and 1953, both times for car issues largely

I guess keeping track of how many tires you use during a race is also too artificial smh my head

F1 posted their stupid AI marble bust of Kimi Antonelli so I spent very minimal effort drawing my own greyscale Kimi bust that nevertheless has a closer likeness

I get why adapting Vineland is an adaptational nightmare but I feel like OBAA is uncommitted thematically by comparison. I have yet to wholly like a PTA adaptation of a book though, he chooses books that are so strong thematically and structurally BECAUSE of being books that the films feel diluted

My favorite thing about the new F1 engines is that people are so distracted by superclipping (a term I find unhelpful when describing what’s going on but whatever) that they’re not complaining about turbo lag

There's this funny perception that any electrical power is "unnatural" to motorsport when the history of electric cars is arguably older and more established than that of the internal combustion engine

Also none of it's "natural" bc last I checked race cars don't grow on trees. We made the rules up

What makes me laugh abt this is that historically speaking having to manage the powertrain through a race was actually supremely common in F1.

And when that wasn't a thing there's tires. Or brakes. Or fuel window during those few years. Etc etc. Managing IS and always has been racing lmfao
