i spent a day hacking on something with Claude Code only to realize this afternoon that there was a better option if only i had read the documentation a little more closely.

my favorite part of using Claude is how it can save me a ton of time by automating a lot of toil and also lose me a large (sometimes equivalent) amount of time by credulously affirming every stupid idea i have ever had.

i think the “substitute for large swathes of labor” aspect has a lot of conditionals attached which prevent the reality from turning into the job market being hollowed out.
