Yes. I would go, even if it turned out to be a one-way trip.

Some do care. I do. We see two or three pileated woodpeckers every few years around here, hunting together. I don't see many turtles around the neighborhood any more, though, or frogs. Way too many Copperheads for my taste.

Would love to plant vegetation to attract bats, turtles, frogs...!

She has indeed. With 6 space walks on the ISS and a risky trip around the moon -- she's a real role model.

It's all that political stress and the political activities! But stepping away for a few weeks seems to have made a BIG difference.

No longer feel so shattered. Busy! But Not Broken.

Well.

You're right, to be honest. Not HEART broken so much as ...

I don't have a word for Everything-Broken-Mind-Brain-AllOfIt-Completely-Shattered

Better now, though. Stepping away from political conflict for weeks now and political activities helps A LOT.

Good call. ๐Ÿ™‚

Work hard -- sure! Make our calls to Congress, speak to all our neighbors on both sides -- of course!

But there's real joy and happiness seeping through from time to time...as it must --- as it SHOULD.

Thanks for sharing! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

We are so proud of Christina Koch here in NC!

Safe travels, young lady. Well done.

Officially now the farthest any woman has traveled away from Earth...

Koch was born and raised in North Carolina, attended the NC School of Science and Math and is a 2X graduate of NC State University: BA/MS. Flight engineer on ISS 59/60/61. Recipient of North Carolina Award in 2024.

*So proud!*

I took my laptop to my son's place last night so we could watch the Artemis ii launch while chatting.

Heart-stopping delays were overcome and then those mighty engines came to life.

So proud! We wish them all the best in their journey and will be here, patiently, actively following. Cheering!

Wow! Spectacular video - but not real. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Still, the post has been useful in getting me to research the bird and sign up to Cornel Lab's eBird website, where I found this (equally spectacular!) Pink Pigeon image: ebird.org/species/pinp...

Congrats Mauritius and Durrell Conservation efforts! โค๏ธ

We're going to see Project Hail Mary tonight again in IMAX. We had some visibility issues the first time due to a railing.

Blue Jay, forest police, on guard for predators above or below. They're born with that gorgeous uniform and do excellent work.

Always welcome around here, though a bit rare in this growing zone: 8-9.

TY for the watercolor! Superior!

Wow! This was so cool!

So -- how do you know where you're supposed to stand? You have an assigned "spot" then?

Well done.

Ya can't look past this fella and his message --

"Get up! Have a BIG day! And do it R-R-R-RIGHT!"

Okay, kookaburra. For sure. Big, Good, and R-R-R-RIGHT

Happy 98th Birthday, Mister Rogers.

I like it that he said this, David Hollingsworth, "To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now."

Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly from Encyclopedia Britannica

Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly from Encyclopedia Britannica

I saw a Yellow Swallowtail butterfly this morning as I was out feeding the birds. So early in the season!

And if that wasn't enough, it flew by the window an hour later as I was in the kitchen.

Today was my lucky day! ๐Ÿ™‚ (Britannica)

This speaks to me today.

The burden is heavy, but when someone says, "Thanks for ALL you do," it feels lighter.

When someone says, "I understand. Here. Isn't this beautiful?" It feels lighter.

When friends smile and take my hand anyway, it feels lighter.

When I see these posts...it's lighter.

Thanks! I needed this!

How delightful! I listened to Science Friday on our local Public Radio station ALL the time in my 30s & 40s.

Good to discover that some of the good things are not only still around, but they're STILL GOOD.

Looking forward to tomorrow's new episode (but I can catch it here on Blue Sky, too -- yay).

BIG congratulations to VOA for this major step. It's been a long road and a hard road, but this win brings me great happiness.

Please -- carry on. ๐Ÿ™

I just took my first Braver Angels online course.

Good!

And more than that, rightly or wrongly, just the act of taking the course brings me a sense of peace.
