Talking about electricity usage is like this:
Them: "So what is a kilowatt-hour exactly?"
Me: "Well imagine that you had a 100-watt bulb and you used it for 10 hours. That's 100 watts x 10 hours. One kilowatt-hour."
Them: "Sure, but what's a kilowatt-hour?"

GPUs on login nodes also needs have allocation controls & accounting, otherwise it's a free resources & the smart, smart users will find a way
There is some progress on these controls being discussed in the k8s/cloud-native world, where companies may not have followed a login-compute split like HPC

Thanks Berkeley neighbor for adding back a safety barrier to this bike hazard on Virginia & McGee. I noticed last night someone removed my cone &I was going to replace it this week. City of Berkeley still hasn't put in a permanent fix.
I am curious how the repair rate on these will compare to hybrids. Hybrids are great for range, but they tend to have a higher repair rate than either ICE or EVs. Is the onboard gas generator a simpler and more reliable solution vs hybrid engines?

BREAKING: Here's everything we know about the shelter-in-place advisory issued for North Berkeley on Monday morning. We'll continue to monitor the situation.
Brief power outage in Berkeley near the North Berkeley Bart station. Only lasted a few seconds. PGE.com/outage doesn't show anything so it must have been brief for everyone
Voting over and over until the other side becomes exhausted and gives up.
My other favorite Google Easter-egg is the title for the Google 404 error. It contains an humorous typo.
This Google definition for "Pedantic" doesn't explain what Pedantic means. This is irritating.
Today I realized is an Easter-egg-- It's written this way *because* it will irritate the pedants. Well played Google. Well played.

Gemini vs a treasured quote from www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UMq...
Just had a thought: Are we going to be dealing with AI gaslighting for the rest of our darned lives? Are we going to dealing with those 👍 & 👎 buttons forever?
I mean I've been correcting people on the Internet for half my life already...

Google's Gemini 3 is apparently causing a fair amount of load on the Google infrastructure. Folks are complaining about errors like "We are at capacity, we'll be back soon" since at least yesterday.
For me just now, Gemini on Google Docs is very slow.
