This needs to be taken seriously. Along with underfunding, Doug Ford is destroying the university system. And yes, this latest move is 100% in line with what we've seen happening by state-level MAGA-hats in the US.

Anne Hathaway bought the rights to a novel about a tradwife influencer who wakes up in 1855 and has to actually live the life she's been selling online. The book is called Yesteryear. It came out 3 days ago. The film rights were already sold to Hathaway, who will produce and star.
Holy shit, I have NEVER been more excited for a movie.
Side Quested page where the city of Riverfall is introduced. It's a pretty city that looks like Greece (both modern and ancient) at a montain that has a huge waterfall.
Side Quested page where Chloé shows up and breaks the table where Charlie and the cute weaver have been talking.
Side Quested page where Chloe is about to tell a long flashback story, but Chrlie literally cruples the panel and says "nope".
Side Quested page where Charlie leashes out on her birth parents.
Awright, hello, #portfolioday !
I'm Alexandra, a brazillian comics artist living in Portugal, and I'm not looking for work, but if you're looking for comics to read, I've got it!
And it's free to read! (but you can buy the book if you like it)

It's a gift, and if opposition parties can't do anything with it, and if the Ontario voter eats it, well, I dunno.
Also you’re welcome / I’m sorry?

On January 10, 2022, the Knicks played the San Antonio Spurs at the Garden. It was Pride night. Richards was there, attending with a friend. An 18-page report prepared by Eversole's Threat Management Group and reviewed by WIRED shows just how closely she was being monitored. 07:10:20 // CAM 0241 // scans her ticket to section 102, Row 8, Seat 5 07:11:14 // CAM 1434 // goes up terrace escalators on level 3 to level 6 concourse 07:12:52 // CAM AC10 // hugs usher Appendix A of the report has a screenshot of the embrace, with Richards circled in red. 08:08:58 // CAM 1093 // talking with F&B worker at the Draft Kings Bar 08:10:49 // CAM 0512 // pays for the drinks 08:31:19 // CAM 0485 // eating at a table It goes on and on. At 8:48 pm, camera 0489 spots another quick hug with an MSG “membership experience executive” (there's a grainy photo in the report's Appendix N). Two minutes and two seconds later, the same camera captures her heading into the women's bathroom. Her exit is noted after precisely two minutes and five seconds.
The owner of MSG and the Knicks compiled this kind of second-by-second surveillance of a trans woman while they were in the arena. They're doing this at all venues owned by James Dolan of perceived enemies. Crazy, crazy shit.

Ontario takes over Billy Bishop Airport, promises to build it out for jets despite total lack of business case.
Barely a month later, Ontario buys jet for Doug Ford.

It used to be that if you wanted a big pay-out, you had to actually make something successful. Now these layabouts expect participation trophies - and they refuse to face the music when they fuck up. If capitalism is incentivising them to fail like this, maybe it's fatally broken.
The problem nowadays is that CEOs don't want to work. They just want money for laying people off and blathering about AI, not for producing any positive or concrete improvement to the business. They expect hundreds of millions for thousands of job loses and it's weak sauce, snowflake behaviour.
OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit
Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here
Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse
Media and universities: AI is here to stay
@parismarx.com: As European lawmakers grew increasingly concerned about a U.S. digital “kill switch” and the security of the cloud services supplied by major U.S. companies, one thing was clear: they were not nearly as sovereign as they previously believed. #uspoli

Ford’s latest bill collides with cities’ efforts to phase out gas in buildings. great work by @cloelogan.bsky.social for @nationalobserver.com www.nationalobserver.com/2026/04/16/n...
Why is it that price signals, the manifestation of the free market, are some innately wise force when it comes to housing or groceries — but when gas prices rise, we should do everything we can to blunt it? Are drivers exempt from the free market? Are there no alternatives to driving SUVs?
BREAKING: A jury has found Live Nation and Ticketmaster to be an illegal monopoly that overcharges fans.
After the federal government settled the case, 34 states kept pursuing the giant ticket and concert company.
Now, the states have won.
That first part is kind of the thesis here and it seems right

Personally don't recommend these. As the article notes, these properties are typically achieved through PFAS, which can shed carcinogens in your home (which you then inhale) or come out in the wash (polluting waterways for decades). Will try to do a thread on how to treat stains in the wash.
Ban this shit from your life.
Seriously. Boycott. And keep away from your kids.
I listened to an interview a while back thinking “How the F was this guy a Republican?” Then he kept talking and I went “Oh… that’s how.”
Leagues better than most but still subscribes to some terrible takes.
This rules. The policy, obv, but also specifically name-checking a single ultra rich guy who bought a $238 million penthouse he does not live in, you love to see it.
Disney's new CEO, whose pay package is worth nearly $45M, just announced 1,000 layoffs.
Reminder that Disney paid an effective federal income tax rate of ZERO in 2025 and aims to buy back $7B of its own stock in 2026.
This is what corporate greed looks like.
