This was a fantastic interview! Really interesting thoughts on narrative curation vs openness & emergence.

Was Life Seeded from Space? ‘Complete Set’ of DNA Ingredients Discovered on Asteroid “Organic molecules delivered from extraterrestrial materials may have played a key role in supplying building blocks for life on Earth,” said one scientist.

All of the chemical components of DNA have now been discovered on a second asteroid. A Japanese team has now identified all of those in rocks picked up from the surface of the asteroid Ryugu. The discovery corroborates the results from a 2023 NASA mission. 404 Media buff.ly/3TGZRZ9

people sometimes assume I am dour, unhappy, and pessimistic because I make angry, political games about hopelessly entrenched destructive systems

but at the heart of all of this is the notion that we can have a better world if we are brave enough to tear down the old one

it *is* optimistic

A white bunny-like mascot in yellow clothing stands on a carpet in front of a pillar and some windows. Its headgear resembles a yellow jumbo jet.

Hanepyon is the mascot of Ota-ku, Tokyo. (Haneda Airport is in Ota, which is why Hanepyon's head is a plane.)

Stories can be incredibly moving in Zelda games. My favorite games in this series are still "Link's Awakening" (the original) and "Majora's Mask". Both powerfully explore nostalgia, homesickness and Hiraeth: Link being trapped in a completely different (and surreal) dimension, trying to get home.

While I find Rowling’s views abhorrent, I’m not going to shame people for still feeling an attachment to Harry Potter. We have to remember how important those books were to a generation of kids as their gateway to Satanism.

given the modern conservative fascination with Sparta it's at least a little funny that they've engineered a situation in which Persia is able to level a dramatically uneven battlefield by forcing the conflict into a narrow pathway

"The Burning of Giordano Bruno" by Leonora Carrington captures a surreal tapestry of mystical symbols and fantastical creatures, reflecting her interest in the esoteric and the unknown. Hallmarked by Carrington's characteristic dreamlike style, the artwork pays homage to Bruno's pioneering ideas and tragic fate, blending the mystical with profound historical commentary.
