Yesterday was the national Evacuee's Day in #Finland. Remembering those who had to leave their homes, often hastily and only with what they could carry, and start life anew as internal #refugees because of the unjust aggression of the Kremlin.
About 420 000 people. Over 11% of the population.
The Finnish #Defence Forces are calling up reservists to snap refresher exercises in order to increase operational readiness. This hasn't happened often.
Fortunately the reason is the need for increased surveillance due to wandering drones, not "real" threat.

This can't be news to them? I seem to recall reading Cold War era US military manuals giving out ice load strength calculations up to landing C-130s and firing artillery from the ice.
Russian rounds started punching through “bulletproof” vests.
Now, 5.000 new armor plates from Denmark are heading to Ukraine to fix the problem - developed in close cooperation with Ukrainian forces.

Helicopters are vital for countering drones and protecting shipping, says Andrei Vrublevsky, commander of the Northern Fleet’s newly established helicopter regiment
Maybe why #DMA #DanishMaritimeAuthority requested to #Forsvaret #DK #Denmark that they should have some color added 😉
Today, two Tu-22M3 from Soltsy Air Base, escorted by two Su-35S, conducted a 4-hour training flight over the Baltic Sea and approached Danish airspace.
In the area of the island of Bornholm, the group was intercepted by a scrambled pair of Royal Danish Air Force F-35A from Skrydstrup Air Base.

Palantir is trying to worm their way into the government and security architecture of the Nordics as well, so this is worth sharing. In keeping with the common sentiment of ours being the stupidest possible timeline, this crap is just deep into cartoon villain territory.

The pattern of Russia-affiliated tankers avoiding hostile south Baltic Swedish waters have strengthened.
No outbound tankers has passed north of Bornholm since Sat and today inbound tankers started showing the same pattern.
This is brand new behavior, at least since Jan 1 2026.

Denmark would receive 8 M4A3E4 Shermans in April 1952, and these would go to the Tank School at Oksbøl. These Shermans hold the title of being the first official tanks of the Danish Army. The shipment of Shermans led to some friction between the two nations, as the Danes were really only interested in more modern options. M47 and M48 Pattons were unavailable, but in 1953, the US offered to pay for the delivery of British Centurions instead. This was accepted by Denmark, making delivery of any more M4s redundant. Vintage Friday: Denmark, being a founding member of NATO, qualified for the Mutual Defense Assistance Program, and were initially offered more modern US tanks, but as the Korean war ramped up upgunned Shermans instead were delivered in 1952, and used at the armour school in Oksbøl.
