Featured story from @gaigedavila.bsky.social: Meenu Batra, 53, is Texas' only licensed Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu legal interpreter. She once helped immigrants in the courts.
Now she's languishing in a Raymondville detention center. She’s lived in America for 35 years.
There’s just no comparison. The two parties are systematically treated completely differently by the Fourth Estate & it is a massive problem for American democracy:
Again, this is true & there is simply no comparison between the breathless BIDEN FAILED IN AFGHANISTAN AND IT IS THE END OF ALL THINGS coverage that was wall-to-wall 24/7 in August 2021:

Stop telling me how to post. It's social media not social youdia
Matt Damon playing a 14th century French knight that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mullet. Beard. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and cigarette smoke.
Matt Damon while playing Odysseus who also looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Long, skinny beard. Smells like horseshit, pine tar, and perhaps Mediterranean herbs.
Matt Damon playing a 19th century cowboy that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mustache. Shaggy hair. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and definitely chewing tobacco.
Every time Matt Damon takes on a period role he ends up looking like a third baseman for the Phillies.
If AI was the wave of the future, sites wouldn't put the icon for it where you're most likely to accidentally click on it without meaning to.
It is objectively bad for democracy that both blue and red states are doing extreme gerrymanders.
But the only feasible solution — a national ban on partisan gerrymandering — has only been endorsed by one party. And it's not the one complaining about Virginia right now.
Cf. the Bezos Post, "Republicans gerrymandering in Texas is fine, actually" b/w "Democrats gerrymandering in Virginia is a threat to democracy"
I’m so so sorry for your loss 💙

I know we’re not supposed to like the Iranian social media teen meme army seeing us for what we’ve told them we are on the Internet but I like to think this kind of thing is really just them reaching out and saying we don’t like this either and know you’ll appreciate the hilarity
Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.
This is the game Republicans wanted to play. OK, then.

Also, what public transportation??? Jerry had successfully kept that out of his city lol
So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out
As a matter of principle, you can either have a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment or you can have a dinner that features Donald Trump. You can’t have both because the president holds the freedom of the press in contempt. www.mediamatters.org/donald-trump...
A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.
Feel like it should be a bigger story that Howard Lutnick's firm (run by his kids) created a financial product to buy up tariff refund claims at a major discount, and will now be cashing in on the higher costs passed onto consumers.
Amazon saw lower prices at competitors and urged the brands to pressure those competitors to raise their prices, which they did. In writing. @robbonta.bsky.social has the receipts of this cartel behavior.

The press is intent on whitewashing Republican agency out of everything.
Billie Little had worked for Thomson Reuters for about two decades. She was fired after questioning whether federal immigration agents unlawfully used their products. n.pr/3Ovl8k8

Tremendous warning, sir, you should issue more of them, and more often.
