I believe he was referring to Johnny Mandel, who sang the song.

“You’re that Kree shlag Worldmind deputized.”
In the running for second greatest Nova ever, Kree medic Ko-Rel (in spite of being dramatically under-powered compared to Nova Prime) tries valiantly to save Rich from the transmode virus and protect the Xandarian Worldmind.

Stripes, Meatballs, Caddyshack - I was raised on Bill Murray films!
My mom was a huge fan of SNL and we saw most every movie any of the original Not Ready For Prime Time cast were starring in.
Oh yeah, 100% with you, Bill. Seeing it as a teenager, having grown up on the show, the movie seemed a completely different beast to me.
I watched it again later in my 20s, and liked it a bit more. But I remain a much bigger fan of the TV series.
Well, now you have me interested in reading the book!
Nice. I just picked up the first three issues of Killer Instinct last week. I’m on the lookout for the last three now, as well as those Manx Cat issues.
I hope things are brighter for you nowadays!
I hope it’s a fond one for you.
Impressive, and a little bit not too surprising.
Yeah, I deliberately avoided buying any Grimjack that came out after the ongoing series ended. I just wanted to enjoy that original run. But I loved it so much that I am keeping an eye out for those later stories now.
And it’s great to hear some of that stuff is included in those collections.
I’m afraid to look any deeper into that story now, and just going to assume he lived happily ever after with the money!
Sketches for Italy!
And we’re off!
Very nice! It does seem like the commissioning public had one particular favorite. 😂
As a philosophical thought exercise, it’s a very relaxing song to me nowadays. 😂
As a teenage kid suffering bouts of depression, I found it endearing, without being motivational. I believe it actually helped ease my darker thoughts at the time.
The shades of red across the back and the wisps of smoke up front look brilliant Shane!
Cable looks good too
LOBO! The MAIN MAN! Big screen AT LAST!
That upper right hand corner just sings to me - Ronan, a Kree Sentry, Blastaar, Silver Surfer, Galactus, the Super Skrull, and Annihilus!
(Nice coloring job too!)
M*A*S*H was family entertainment at my house growing up. My mom, dad, me and my brothers always watched the TV show together. So it was a shock when my dad brought home a copy of the movie on VHS and I discovered the theme song had lyrics, sorrowful depressing lyrics. But I maybe loved it even more.
“How does it feel, my love? How does it feel to be Selected?”
Almost killed fleeing the Kree Sentries, Rich lies helpless for a transmode infected Gamora to pass the virus along to him making the Nova Prime a Select to serve the Phalanx in their conquest of the galaxy.

Not For Sale 🤔
I guess maybe it was some sort of giveaway?
Glad it caught your eye! As part of my celebration of Nova‘s 50th anniversary, I’m posting his part in the Annihilation events during all of April.
I do enjoy Paul’s two issues of Nova (and many issues of The Flash), but I love his work on Guardians of the Galaxy and the War of Kings event mini.
Overmind and the Squadron Supreme. Hellstorm and Hellcat. You hit my sweet spot for Defenders storylines I am the most interested in!
Happy birthday Zach!
Knowing your affection for Godzilla, have you ever read Zander Cannon’s Kaijumax?

Day 1: MONARK STARSTALKER
Guy Gardner: Warrior #0 (1994) cover art by Mitch Byrd & Dan Davis
A little overly rendered in that image but I will defend this period of Guy Gardner until I die. Beau Smith wrote some amazing stories, and artist Mitch Byrd made that “Warrior” design look good.
Do we know who the Flintstones were mourning in this cover art?
The best part (for me) was the new original stories by published Star Wars authors Michael A Stackpole and Timothy Zahn, who each contributed more than one.
Other authors such as Kathy Tyers, Barbara Hambly, and Kevin J Anderson contributed as well.
Wookiepedia entry: The Star Wars Adventure Journal, alternatively styled as The Official Star Wars Adventure Journal, was published by West End Games between the years 1994 and 1997. Fifteen issues were printed, containing short stories by both well-known and relatively unknown Star Wars authors; adventures and source material for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game; Galaxywide NewsNets, in-universe news reports from throughout the galaxy; interviews with personalities from all walks of Star Wars literature; and reviews of new and upcoming Star Wars products.
Basically a WEG news source as well as supplement to the Star Wars Role-Playing Game.
@wookofficial.bsky.social describes it best.
I wasn’t aware they had a newsletter
the actors Paul Rudd and Jack Black wrapped in the coils of a large snake Anaconda (2025) directed by Tom Gormican
This was not a good movie.
But it had some funny moments, an entertaining cast, and ended up being an enjoyable way to pass a Sunday afternoon.
