I've also been a couple times to other locations and regretted it. Seems I always accidentally park on the opposite side from the bathrooms and am forced to walk across the entire hellscape.

When I was regularly traveling to Chattanooga for work I would still top at the Buc-ee's exit but go to the Love's across the street. Empty, wonderful. Buc-ee's aint for me. It's for other people.

Themes:

- Nothing left to do but pray. Not in a bullshit "thoughts and prayers" kind of way, but in a profound and truer sense. A return to Eden. A desire to eat to commune with God, to eat to taste, rather than simply eat to live.

- Regarding all of today's chaos, how can I blame certain people when I myself have done nothing for the poor? I haven't loved those around me. I havent fasted. I haven't prayed.

- Our actions, or lack thereof, affect those around us in some sort of spiritual and mystical sense. Perhaps they affect even those people we hate. Maybe I share some responsibility for other's suffering after all. Maybe I am the one dropping the bombs.

- What is the purpose of faith if it's merely "hope" in something greater? People find hope in a lot of things. What makes this special? It has to require action. It has to cost something. It requires "carrying your cross." Maybe this is what makes our faith into truth.

Working on an article about faith. I always get extra religious during Holy Week and Easter.

Maybe I am speaking too much from my own personal experience. I am certainly not one to defend the Biden's, but I knew a couple people who made these issues their entire personality for a while. It was odd and annoying, but you could also kinda live with it.

I used to get so annoyed at libertarians for complaining about dumb stuff like Hunter Biden's laptop or when Joe Biden made airlines get rid of hidden fees. I would now love to return to those simpler times.

Started this last night. A book about growing up in the south and contemplating death? Sounds like a great Holy Week read to me! @rachaelmaddux.bsky.social

About to start C&P. I've read TBK and The Idiot, but never this. I hear this translation is good.

I'm at work constantly being annoyed but all I want to do is go home and read Chekhov. I just...like... can't even.

I go to Irvine once a year for work. I always like to take an extra day off out there to drive to LA to recover before returning home.

I finished reading Moby Dick early this morning. I then checked my phone for the first time today and saw the headline. Maybe the U.S. is the Pequod, and the whale is our hubris.
