They're just little guys. You can look at them for free and you can look at them up close if you pay for Bird Premium (binoculars or camera). They're just doing behaviors. They will never email you.

Abstract inspired by my culture. Mix of Choctaw and Ponca imagery. I like to use designs and colors rooted in beadwork and applique seen in our traditional clothing. I don't title my work because I just don't come up with good names. 8x8 acrylic on canvas.

After a deadly fungus wiped out much of New York City's bat population, a passionate new community of bat lovers is helping them recover. Hell Gate went to meet some of them at Gotham Bat Conservancy's most recent "bat walk" in Prospect Park.

Ah! 19 April – 126th anniversary of the day William Butler Yeats kicked Aleister Crowley downstairs as they fought for control of the British branch of the not-at-all-ridiculous Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the Battle of Blythe Road. According to legend, anyway... 🧵

A high-quality photo of the wedding ring. It has an oval shaped gold in quartz in the center flanked by 2 small clusters of 3 small diamonds, with gold nuggets all along the sides of the band.

When I first started at my current (state gov) job, the permissions were so locked down I couldn't install fonts.

I'm a graphic artist.

The only thing I like about Adobe CC is the font handling because I no longer have to file a help desk ticket to font swap.

A picture of a 3-inch anti-generative AI holographic sticker with a formline design on it. The design has a black border with sparkles lining it. Text within the border reads “you cannot automate the human experience.” The formline design depicts a decapitated robot head with vacant eyes. Next to it are two ravens, with one raven perched on the head with a piece of the robot’s antenna in its beak.

I *think* the site is a bit more stable now 😭 I've restocked both the human experience and rainbow raven stickers!!! I know both the trans and rainbow stickers have been out of stock for a bit, in case anyone's been hoping for either of those! ko-fi.com/telekitnetic...

The Wetland Project has been my favorite alternate-reality radio experience since it began. Since it only happens once a year, you can’t become accustomed to it. Close your eyes and be washed over by the sonic reality of an isolated bog on Saturna Island!

Pet peeps! I've got someone who needs a little help. Sama's disabled, had her hours cut around the first of the year, money's REALLY tight. Her cat needed emergency vet care. it's only $287, but she had to take $100 out of her rent fund for the deposit.

The very very busy poster for an event called BLADEFEST. The poster advertises a lot of events like a drum circle and sword masters, as well as a half dozen local musical artists. The event is on May 23rd at Wangari Gardens in DC, and recommends a $25 donation.

Me and a few of my friends have been organizing a big medieval themed mini festival in the middle of DC! We're gonna have music, sword fighting, flow arts, just a ton of stuff. Would love to see you all there! Sandy Pug will be tabling and I'll swordfight you if you're good

A century of hair shows how lead exposure collapsed For decades, Americans were surrounded by lead from car exhaust, factories, paint, and even drinking water, often without realizing the damage it caused. By analyzing hair samples preserved across gen...

We have 100x LESS lead in our bodies now than in 1970.

A great reminder that change is slow and tedious and must be constantly fought for to retain, but shit DOES change.

A watercolor portrait of an anthropomorphic turkey vulture in fine Elizabethan-style clothing (with ruffs and all). He holds a stylus in one hand and a notebook with sketches of apple blossoms in the other. Several bees crawl over him. Two apple boughs frame him and the vignette of a tranquil pond behind him.

April 2: guards cut all phone access in the housing units without warning. When detainees protested, CRS officers allegedly punched a man, threw another to the ground, kicked him in the head, and pinned him by the neck. A third detainee's wrist was broken. The entire cage was pepper-sprayed.
