It's an online hustings event hosted by NAS Scotland South Lanarkshire this evening...good to see that there are more than one going on!
PLOT TWIST
YOUR ENEMIES LAMENT YOUR VERY EXISTENCE. HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR MEDICATIONS?
Is this the event that's taking place tomorrow Aimée?
I deliberately use UK spellings (recognise, emphasise, dialogue, learnt) for exactly the same reason 😄
If you use AI in your writing, I will not read it. Full stop. Whine if you want to, fine. But if you've not taken the time yet, do your research, and if you think the environment and people who AI is hurting are okay stepping stones for your shortcut, I will be reading you work even less.
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer clutching some very fancy handbags and making shocked "ooooooh!" faces
oh no not angry Starmer!
That is just *beautiful*
I'd never heard of Florence Chaplin before and while that is possibly a reflection of my lack of culture, I wish women artists were celebrated more because WOW.
all your reginos are belong to us
"the cornerstone of every nutritious breakfast"
have you tried switching it off and back on again
BLUESKY IS A WEBSITE THAT TURNS (post by jay.bsky.team claiming that bluesky is made with AI) INTO (picture of bluesky not working)
the best way to find and weed out nazbol/redbrown infiltrators in leftist spaces is to say something like "it's bad to use slurs" and when someone goes "well actually" or "what about.." then you know that's the strasserite and you can kick them out
Comedienne Lara Beitz: "I'm not low support needs. I'm low support gets!"
Also relevant:
Because WE ALL AGREE
the most conspicuous of us need more a lot of the time!
We want them to have what they need
Having the ability to address this group quickly, okay, fine
But it’s not autism more
It’s not autism harder
It’s not “more severe”
They’re co-morbid conditions.
Speech delayed
Distractible
Poor working memory
Frequently spins
Intellectual disability
so many more helpful things to say
But the reason to carve out a category is to separate them from us
& they try to say we want to take something meant for our more conspicuous neurokin
we do not
"The point is to separate them from us"
YES thank you Aslynn 👏👏👏
When you feel imposter syndrome sneaking up on you, just remember that JD Vance lectured the Pope on theology.
Autistic people serve our communities with caring & integrity, as Police Officers, Judges, Magistrates, Barristers, Solicitors, Social Workers, Probation Officers, Prison Officers, Teachers, Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Researchers & endless other roles.
Autism isn't what causes planned attacks on others.
Nor are planned attacks caused by being 5ft 7, having size 8 feet, having blue eyes, or shopping at Tesco. Each of which is just as unlikely to 'cause' violence.
Someone remind me...When's #AutismAwareness month again?
**CALL OUT** I’m looking to gather experiences of disabled people who have been criticised or harassed by the public about their Blue Badge or Motability car etc when out.

Every candidate for Scottish Labour is running on an explicit platform of trans segregation, even the ones you like, do not vote for a single one of them
These grievance parents, who are so quick to tell autistic advocates they "do not speak for my child" do not, in fact, speak for all parents either. But they are remarkably quiet about that part.
Poster for Self Acceptance Month by SEMA (Scottish Ethnic Minority Autistics). Background shows yellow tulips with one red tulip in the foreground. Text reads “Autistic, Not Weird!” with an infinity symbol. A bar chart shows responses to the statement “If there were a cure for my autism, I would take it.” Most respondents selected “strongly disagree” (54.99%) and “disagree” (26.95%), with smaller percentages agreeing or neutral. Bottom text reads “#CelebrateDifferences” and “sema.scot”.
There have been brief moments recently where I wished I wasn’t autistic. This was because of other people’s treatment, not because of any intrinsic flaws within me. When those people are very close relationships, it hurts even more.
Supporters of Assisted Dying complaining about the Lords who have been actually doing their jobs for once and scrutinising it - since Parliament plainly couldn't be bothered to do so - should maybe consider that the reason it didn't pass is simply because it was a terrible bill?
Today is a great victory for me
