I like it! I find I have to be in a certain mood to pick it up as Emma's narrative feels very heavy, but I'm so curious about where the story will go.
Your artwork was actually what drew me in. It perfectly captures the darkness of the story, like standing under a thicket of trees at nightfall.

Oh dang, I'm literally reading The Moss right now! Way cool!!
Deep breath in, one step at a time.
The 8th best Willie Wonka.
Crispin Glover had a moment in Epic Movie in 2007, Douglas Hodge brought Wonka to Theatre Royale in London's West End in 2013. Christian Borle then took him to Broadway in 2017, followed by a national tour with Noah Weisburg (2018-2019) and Cody Garcia (2020-2022.)
You're also well past retirement age, Janet. Let someone new take a seat - and I don't mean the fascist PR nightmare, either.

There is someone younger than Mills running, but she needs signatures to get her on the ballot. Andrea LaFlamme is worth the ink. @andrealaflamme.bsky.social
So they're keeping him for good, right? I mean, it's certainly for everyone else's good...
I don't think I'll ever see a potoo, mouth open wide, and not think of Luciano Pavarotti again.
Was 5, now 3.
Hidden option: Bic Uniball, for if I need to hand a pen to someone else. I admit, I'm a bit territorial.
Involvement with community projects help. Peace of mind is scarce, but Hope cannot be - Hope is essential to surviving dark days with any sort of mental stability in tact/healed. Food banks, Parks & Rec groups, hospital/nursing home volunteers, community garden groups, etc. We are social creatures.
Here is a great thread about functional illiteracy in the United States. This is a subject I speak about repeatedly on here because it's frightening how ill equipped millions of Americans are right now, and it's only going to get worse as anti intellectualism has taken 100% control of the government
Do they think the left et al. are shocked to learn that falling rain is water?
...don't answer that.
In Louise, We Trust.
Is there a specific term for people who hone certain skills only when the project ahead of them requires said skills?
And to these kindred spirits, how long before you got past feeling like a newborn giraffe taking their first steps? 'Cuz oof, I'm feeling awfully wibbly here.
"thousands of patriots" out of ~340+ million people... That speaks volumes.
And still, how many of them will be bots?
Coming here with zero knowledge of Bloodborn was a wild ride.
Coming here with zero knowledge of Bloodborn while drinking a berry smoothie... Ope.
Calling it "pulp."
...friend, please. 🤣💀
So fuzzy, so cute, and you don't even know how much you're helping the sanity of internet strangers. 🖤
The beauty in the back serving absolute face, though? You know. Damn right, you know. ✨
One year later, still true as ever - In a world of egregious, mind-numbing, heartbreaking cruelty, kindness is Punk As Fuck.
Keep being Punk As Fuck.
Perks of living in the sticks up north, and having a job that lets you occasionally work from home:
The bi-monthly blizzard means listening to music that would otherwise discomfort patients in the waiting room:

Love that I'm seeing this with the remnants of the blizzard storming down around us.
Me, reading this between wash loads - I've given up on sorting outside of Pants and Hoodies vs Everything Else, solely for load weight.
✨Don't ask me why my entirewardrobe is Raven Black, Raven Black 🖤✨
9 months, and I'm literally still thinking about this post every time I make soup.
Photo of soup with vegetables. Caption: you started water-based cooking and now your skin is clear and your stomach healed
They're talking about "water based" cooking now. Cooking things in water instead of oils. It's soup. They're making soup.
Art.
A panel from Barefoot Gen. Gen’s father scolds his other son Koji for wanting to join the Navy. “You think this war is being fought for the Japanese people?! A handful of rich men started it to line their own pockets! Do you want to die for a few millionaires? Your life is worth more than that!”
Everyone should read Barefoot Gen
That scene in Princess Mononoke, where Okkoto - the Boar God - says "...my children grow weak and stupid," before succumbing to the hatred that turns him into a demon...?
Likening the current US political scene to boars is mean to the boars, but it's quite fitting here.
Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.
Everyone raised on the AP Style Guide is having a moment with this one, thank you @ellecordova.bsky.social
