Crazy white people feel like they can control public spaces, and will literally tattle on people using a power outlet in a public building if they think it will give them a little rush of feeling powerful. Needless to say, ogre defeated, beautiful soundbar acquired. Stand up to ogres, everybody πŸ’ͺ🏽

🎲 I told him he should just go tell the library staff we were breaking the rules. He did, and said they would be out in a minute on his way out the door. Nobody came for us. The poor seller was a bit rattled, didn't want to get in trouble. I said, we're not going to get in trouble. Nobody cares.

He said that he wouldn't leave until he made sure we were following the rules. I asked him if he works at the library. No. He just "wants to make sure we can all keep enjoying the free things that we are allowed to enjoy." What was his solution? He wanted me to test the soundbar inside the library 🀣

I had to fight a real life ogre to get a soundbar on FB marketplace today. Met up with seller at local library. Great guy. Yt man walks in off the street and tells us, if we're not staff, we can't use the outlet in the atrium. I pretend to pack up and tell him he can go now. He refuses. Drama ensues

Tolkien Thoughts for Troubled Times:
β€˜But it is not your own Shire,’ said Gildor. β€˜Others dwelt here before hobbits were; and others will dwell here again when hobbits are no more. The wide world is all about you: you can fence yourselves in, but you cannot for ever fence it out.’

I set up a business where I got paid to play Dungeons & Dragons. We now run 180 games a month at our main studio, and I'm living the nerdworld dream. Farez Najid found a way to make a living as a professional Dungeons & Dragons dungeon master. He now runs multiple studios and a training program.

"I wondered β€” what if I could make a career out of D&D too?"
