On 26 April, I plan to be on the start line of the London Marathon. I’m in my fifties, I’ve only been running for a few years, and this will be my first marathon. I’m doing it to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).
I didn't quite understand the exact mechanism whereby holdings in Money Market funds would be at risk. Aren't they just mainly short term bonds about to mature often government backed? Is the risk that governments would default? I understand that synthetic funds are more opaque....

Grok, remove the one least qualified to be President
Aside from the amusing cringe in the Goodwin thing, I just want to push back on this notion that "every" journalist is using AI to write copy. That's bollocks.
There is something deeply sad about someone who starts a sentence with the word ”frankly” and then goes on to whinge like a ten year old that life’s unfair … whitewash … sick to death … usual suspects. Has WhingeUK’s leader run out of steam dredging up the most tired of political cliches?
1/ With American ground forces building up in the Gulf region, much attention has been paid to Kharg Island in the northern Persian Gulf. But what about the Iranian-held islands in the Strait of Hormuz? Here's why they might be a higher priority for possible landings. ⬇️
Most honest reporting in the past few weeks.
This Trump tweet is a work of art and needs to be kept for posterity. It turns out that the US has destroyed 100% of Iran’s military capability. Yet, to combat a military with no capability he is left pleading with allies he has regularly insulted to save him in the Gulf.
I asked President Trump about the FBI reportedly seizing election records in Arizona. He said they must have done that because it was a “rigged” election. I pointed out to him that his own AG said there was not measurable voter fraud to overturn that election. Then he called me a rotten reporter.
What this further confirms is that the Trump administration knows Russia is helping Iranians try to kill Americans, but is doing nothing to stop it. How about sanctions or more arms sales to Ukraine?
In the second half of 2025, one man accounted for almost 40% of all money donated to political parties in the UK: a crypto-billionaire who lives in Thailand.
Britain desperately needs to rewrite its party funding rules.

I and the libdems.org.uk forced a vote today to bring forward urgent legislation to protect our children better online, including banning harmful social media - neither the Conservatives nor Labour voted for it.
We will keep fighting to make sure our children are safe online.
This British 65 year old grandmother with a valid visa spent six weeks in an ICE detention center. She was shackled, transported and locked up. She was on a holiday in the US!
Warning: ⚠️ Please don’t travel to the US! It’s totally unsafe!

Of all Elon’s achievements, the most underrated is making Twitter such a shitshow that millions of people stopped being addicted to it. This has fixed far more brains than Neuralink.
Snap judgement on Trump Supreme Court verdict - UK largely unaffected, may get lower tariffs now, but hadn't committed much to get them. EU, never ratified Trump deal anyway, now don't until the next step. China, still tariffs.
More affected - those who did full deals e.g. Indonesia, Vietnam

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
I've written a book about a 14 year old boy - and though I hope 14 year olds will enjoy it, it's really for everybody.
I wanted to write something purely funny, and I think I might love it more than anything I've ever written before.
It's out in August.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

Former Nato boss & Labour minister Lord George Robertson tells us he is "very frustrated" that the government has not set out a clear path for increasing defence spending. He also reacts on the Crisis Room podcast to claims Trump is destroying Nato t.co/NHhPTvr03N
We’re so proud of the way community showed up to protect our neighbors today. Just as a federal judge ruled last night, we know that observing and showing up for each other is not a crime. We need everyone to keep patrolling in the streets as we fight against the hate coming at us.
Ask yourself: If Donald Trump was intentionally trying to destroy the United States, how could you tell the difference?
