I can’t imagine regularly using a platform that showed me posts from accounts I hadn’t opted to follow.
I pop onto Instagram now and then to check for messages, and I don’t recognise my own timeline.

Just a gentle reminder to go check @kaylapainter.bsky.social's Patreon, particularly the Music Industry Mechanics section, which is absolutely packed with advice on music www.patreon.com/c/kaylapaint...
My pleasure!
I always try to revisit albums because sometimes I find I just don't get it on first listen. I mean, with two of my all time favourite albums I only fell in love with them after 18 months!
And a very nice one, too!

You be you, mister. Anyone with opinions that attempt to invalidate your lived experience can simply do one.
Oh, maybe. I didn’t look that way to me.
(If so, nice prompt with the penguin reprimanding the dog.)
@paleblurs.bsky.social Thanks, mister x
Quite an extraordinary mix of old and new, this week, actually.
Also, to avoid disappointment, I should point out that the Cabs track will only be on Mixcloud.
Just over an hour until this week's #electronicears and it is, as ever, and electronic musical beauty.
Featuring: Carya Amara; The Bionics; Pink Industry; Ital Tek; Wire; Snowpoet; Cabaret Voltaire; and LOADS MORE!
Tune in at 8pm by streaming fom www.candofm.co.uk
(Or wait for Mixcloud tomorrow)

PS (to the PSA. So PSB, if you will): Having just taken a further mooch around their website - pinkflag.com - you can buy the new release there.
Which is better than buying it from Apple (obvs).
Yes, great track!
The hottest gig (temperaturewise) I've ever been to was seeing them at The Continental in Preston. An otherworldly experience!
I'd like to think that it is, indeed, an excellent chat.
Oddly, it's not available through Wire's website or Bandcamp, but I did find it on Apple's iStore or whatever it's called.
That's it.

I'm telling you all this because today, for Record Store Day they released an extended version of the 'Read & Burn 03' e.p.
As it happens, I don't much like vinyl, but Colin Newman mentioned on his Substack that a digital version would be available. (THANKFULLY)
'Dip Flash' in turn was based on an earlier Wire track called 'Dot Dash'.
And, as it turned out, '23 Years Too Late' is one of my favourite tracks by Wire.
Here it is:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8U1...
They released this before moving onto their next album 'Object 47'.
For me, 'Read & Burn 03' is particularly notable for the track '23 Years Too Late', which was based on a piece called 'Dip Flash', which they wrote and performed for Iain Sinclair's Orbital concert.
'Send' was prefixed by two e.p.'s "Read & Burn 01' and 'Read & Burn 02'.
'Send' is largely comprised of tracks from these two e.p.'s.
However, there was a 'Read & Burn 03', which consisted of the last few things that Gilbert wrote and (I think) recorded with Wire.
So here's a thing: 'Wire (band)' (as they say on Wikipedia).
Much as I enjoy their first three albums and also their post-2003 work, for me their golden phase is from 'The Ideal Copy' (1987) to 'Send' (2003), the latter being Bruce Gilbert's swansong with the band.

It is terribly dated but that’s not to say don’t. (And the book is also great.)

It was! And it all happened around twilight, which made the whole experience slightly more surreal, like we’d entered a portal.
Actually, have you seen/read the bit in ‘The Martian Chronicles’ where the two people from different times meet, overlooking a city?
It was a bit like that.
I think that’s the same one.
With Trump in office, I’m not sure I have the mental resilience to listen to it and check 😬
