One of the pieces of research I'm doing is how we start dotting vertical farms around cities & how we have kids at public schools learn about farming in cities. Even having new developments thinking about a floor that could potentially be a vertical farm directly in the building itself.

Seems more like the entire GOP tbh
Flynn is literally proposing in multiple instances parking garages in his recent rants over the past 6 months. If Ed Flynn wants to learn what research is & how to help our city read this. When facts teach you something don't ignore it. Help our city.

Ed Flynn doesn't research anything. Dude doesn't rely on science or experts for his thought process. I'm not sure if he's just bought and paid for by the automotive industry but it's blinding how anti progress he is and how pro car at the expense of our citizens and city
IF YOU BUILD A BIKE LANE THAT DOESN'T CONNECT TO ANOTHER BIKE LANE THEN YOU DIDN'T BUILD A BIKE LANE
A hundred years ago, the U.S. had a nationwide network of short-line railroads that connected most urban and rural communities. By the 1940s, most of it had been dismantled ... by the barons of the auto and oil industries. π
Heartbreaking
I don't think it is. Listening to discussions I hear legit everyone lumping any ebike together regardless of if it's an actual bicycle limited to 20 mph. These discussions at big media, and local levels are not separating them here or elsewhere around the country. Ebikes r very misunderstood tbh
I my opinion we shouldn't lump electric motorcycles in with e bikes. One is a bicycle, on is a stripped down motorcycle with a electric motor that can go up to 60 or 70mph in some instances. Huge difference between a bicycle with a motor assist and a motorcycle ποΈ π΅
This leads me to my main point in that you have to change roads to be built for ppl not for cars because cars will never be ok with any small amount of changes you do...so just do it and ppl will change and evolve with it....but we will save lives, money, time in the long run
Driving gives this entitlement feeling like everyone is in your way and everyone is slowing you down. Honestly until you're on the receiving end of it on a bike or walking I don't even think ppl realize how crazy it is. It's like so bad guys realize they're the bad guys? Probably not
You can find the reasons & a 30 year planning timeline of how we accomplish this. Its not just removing parking that we need actively update, its Parking, transit, housing, energy in a phased planned out way. Read more here:

How do we solve the #massachusetts housing crisis? It starts with legislation but #boston can lead the way if they have the courage to do it. Here is how.

Imagine just running for president being a good person, with ideas to fix things in the country, reconnecting with friends around the world and helping our neighbors in our own country with massive investments in our infrastructure instead of wars. That'd be nice. Making kindness our focus again
This is how you know Dunkin is no longer owned by a Boston based company and is a souless conglomerate
...no Boston company would change name of #Boston cream! Et tu brute @dunkindonutscoffee.bsky.social
This is why we should design our streets to eliminate as much risk as possible. That means lower speeds and better visibility. Mistakes do happen, which is why we should use infrastructure to reduce the consequences of those mistakes.
We shouldn't design our streets in a way that luck is required to stay alive
it would obviously take some getting use to, but if parents could trust their kids to get safely to school like you see in other countries that have moved away from car as the primary mode of transit in cities, and a robust public transit & pedestrian infrastructure, it would be lovely wonderful
Honestly - i think most parents in cities if there were protected bike lanes, that were actually cleared during the winter would bike their kids 2 school rather than drive. Saves money, makes kids independent, healthy, fun, builds community...just wins on every front #boston
That pie and coffee plus beautiful day for a ride sounds like the perfect day
I'm loving this new attitude from DOT: "Everytime NIMBYs sue to stop a bike lane, the bike lane gets a mile longer."*
*Not a direct quote
It's funny how they can't understand why it's down. More than double the cost. Ain't no one wanting to buy that. 3 dollars you would probably not lose players. But we should ban sports gambling. Big mistake legalizing it
