The third Jackson Hobbit film is the only thing I have ever left the cinema before it was finished. It was the moment where it went to slow motion as Legolas jumped up the falling rocks and I realised that it just wasn't good, it was trying too hard, the vibes were off.

Steamed Hams full transcript

Well, Seymour, I made it- despite your directions.
Ah.
Superintendent Chalmers.
Welcome.
- I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon.
- Yeah.
Oh, egads! My roast is ruined.
But what if I were to purchase fast food and disguise it as my own cooking? Delightfully devilish, Seymour.
Ah- Skinner with his crazy explanations The superintendent's gonna need his medication When he hears Skinner's lame exaggerations There'll be trouble in town tonight Seymour! Superintendent, I was just- uh, just stretching my calves on the windowsill.
Isometric exercise.
Care to join me? Why is there smoke coming out of your oven, Seymour? Uh- Oh.
That isn't smoke.
It's steam.
Steam from the steamed clams we're having.
Mmm.
Steamed clams.
Whew.
Superintendent, I hope you're ready for mouthwatering hamburgers.
I thought we were having steamed clams.
D'oh, no.
I said steamed hams.
That's what I call hamburgers.
You call hamburgers steamed hams? Yes.
It's a regional dialect.
- Uh-huh.
Uh, what region? - Uh, upstate New York.
Really.
Well, I'm from Utica, and I've never heard anyone use the phrase "steamed hams.
" Oh, not in Utica.
No.
It's an Albany expression.
I see.
You know, these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burger.
Oh, no.
Patented Skinner burgers.
Old family recipe.
- For steamed hams.
- Yes.
Yes.
And you call them steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled.
Ye- You know, the- One thing I should- - Excuse me for one second.
- Of course.
Well, that was wonderful.
A good time was had by all.
I'm pooped.
Yes.
I should be- Good Lord! What is happening in there? - Aurora borealis.
- Uh- Aurora borealis at this time of year at this time of day in this part of the country localized entirely within your kitchen? - Yes.
- May I see it? No.
Seymour.
! The house is on fire.
! No, Mother.
It's just the northern lights.
Well, Seymour, you are an odd fellow but I must say you steam a good ham.

From this day in 2021: My nephews were curious about Final Fantasy after seeing a Moogle I drew and I described Chocobos as looking "kind of like Big Bird" so then I had to draw it.

I swear bsky just randomly decides to hide things sometimes yeah. Okay yeah that's convinced me when I finish Xillia I'll give it another proper go, getting to hear Furnace of War again is enough incentive too tbh

*sigh*
If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it.
If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it.
If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you.
I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

Meanwhile US bombers are taking off from British soil loaded with bombs for genocide in Iran.

Stop gaslighting us. Kick US troops off British soil NOW.

Wasn't a fan of Arise but generally yeah, currently about 25h into Xillia and it's my favourite combat so far I think. The cast I do remember enjoying (except for Karol) though, Yuri is great and Estelle is the perfect foil to him too

Guess I really need to give Vesperia another try sometimes, from the 10h or so I played the combat was only about 3rd best out of the Tales Of games I've experienced so I should at least play enough for it to get better ;)

I'd 100% take remasters, played about half of 1 before it randomly started crashing on my PSP and been meaning to get around to them properly ever since

Why did no-one tell me Mass Effect was secretly a mainline SMT series, would have played it much earlier. What an ending!

This is why I don't use this stuff at all, it ruins your ability to think, and that's the one thing I think we should refuse to give up for anything.

I'm so glad I let friends persuade me to give Mass Effect another try, approaching the end of 3 and while the gameplay still isn't something I especially care about pretty much everything else is peak.

Yeah they're the hefty ones for sure but most of the rest aren't actually as big as the OG Mistborn trilogy and his writing does make them flow pretty easily IMO! I just read theatest secret project last week and it only took me three days, though I get a little obsessed...

The more Cosmere stuff you learn and read about the more you both pity Preservation and also ...gain stronger opinions on his actions let's say 🥲

No. Your childhood nostalgia does not matter more than the lives of real people.

And frankly I'm fucking tired of having to pretend that isnt a fucking insane thing to say in response to "please don't support the hate monger lady's soggy, reheated nachos"

If you start from "should I feel guilty about supporting JKR?" I can kinda see how the issue might look muddy and complicated.

If you start from "what does affirmative support for trans people look like" the answer is crystal clear.

With the HP trailer dropping tomorrow, here's the whole deal:

If you watch the show, hell even just the trailer, I will think less of you. I will dislike you. I will think you don't care about trans people.

That's it. It's been years. There's no wiggle room. No qualifiers. You care or you don't.

For me personally XII deserves more, gorgeous world, best voice acting and script (by miles), one of the best stories.
