A squirrel balances between a bird feeder and suet feeder on a pole, nibbling on seeds staring directly at the viewer in a sunny yard.
I’m too impressed to be angry at her.

A common grackle. A bird with iridescent blue head feathers and a black body is standing on a wooden deck, surrounded by scattered birdseed. The background is green and out of focus.

First full size tomato of the year! A missed zucchini and okra. Cucumbers are starting to succumb to pests.
Polyphemus moth in weeds
Two young Easter Egger chicks standing on a log inside a run
Two orange and yellow California poppies
Two cats, one orange and white, the other gray and white, laying in a sunbeam on a geometric patterned rug
Photo dump from the last week or two. It’s been good around here but very busy keeping up with it all.
What’s your process for cleaning and sanitizing? I’ve got a lot more this year and I’m looking for all the tips and tricks!
A new week! Pulling weeds, planting, and chick update youtu.be/RfcYztQn0iY?...
I’ve never had a tulip tree before so I can’t say I’ve ever noticed how cool the colors on these are. It’s fluorescent! The photo does not do it justice.
One thing I miss about the old house is this rose bush. Gave me Alice in Wonderland vibes. Painted flowers 🌹 🖌️
Might have to plant one here…

An introduction to me, my 4.5 acre homestead, our three hens we drove from Texas to Ohio, and garden updates

Thinking Strawberry Ann aka Berry Ann might actually be a Barry Andy. What do you think? Is this a roo? #BackyardChickens
I feel this. Recently moved into 4.5 acres that was first overgrazed pasture and then a Covid garden that sat neglected for 3 years. The weeds are prolific.
I love this time of year when most of my dinners come from my garden or is foraged or caught.
Little greenhouse visitor. #Gardening #Frog #Nastirium
Some yard art. The wood carved morel (trying to summon all the fungi foraging luck this year 🤞🏻) plus a cacti and my “Gardening is Punk” flag. 🤘🏻
Posted my first YouTube video yesterday. Plan on doing a mix of content around the garden and homestead, but this at least got me started 🌱 youtu.be/66h69yrtOLg?... #Gardening #Homestead #YouTube

Hello! 👋🏻 Decided to start documenting the homestead. The days are getting longer and warmer and the flock is growing. Almost all my seeds are started and I’m anxious to get plants in the ground. Still a little too wet and cold for the warm season vegetables and herbs.
