Good riddance to another one of Trump’s cruel, corrupt cabinet members.

Once again, another woman has been ousted by Trump. It’s about time to clean house of the incompetent men too — I’m looking at Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth.

Countless trans people have already been forced out of the military because of Trump’s trans military ban. Attempting to kick out those remaining is a gross politicization of our military.

Traders placed over $1bn in perfectly timed bets on the Iran war. What is going on? Suspicious wagers on the US-Israel war in Iran are creating huge windfalls and raising concerns among lawmakers

It’s incredibly suspicious that every time Trump is about to make an announcement about the Iran war, there are perfectly timed bets and futures trading.

This needs to be investigated immediately — anyone insider trading must be held accountable.

3 stacked images with text overlayed that detail an exchange between OMB Director Vought and Rep Jayapal. The top image of Vought reads, "It's important to not have fraudulent programs." The bottom two images are of Rep. Jayapal and read, "Oh, I'm so glad you asked about fraud... how many consecutive audits has the Department of Defense failed as of the end of 2025? The number is 8. The DOD is the ONLY federal agency that has never passed an audit. And you want to talk to me about fraud?"

You want to talk about fraud? Look at the Department of Defense first.

At least 88 corporations paid ZERO in income tax despite reporting $105 BILLION in profits. Meanwhile the average American paid $14.5% on their income.

Our system is rigged to benefit billionaires. It’s time to fix it.

Trump has no plan to cut the $39 trillion national debt, but he does want to cut childcare. His budget director is scrambling to clarify | Fortune OMB Director Russell Vought appeared before Congress to answer questions about the request for the largest military spending boost since World War II.

There is billions in confirmed fraud within the Department of Defense, yet Trump and Vought are going after health care, childcare, and nutrition assistance.

As Congress puts together the 2027 budget, we must fight back.

Imagine if we invested in childcare and health care like we do in war and weapons.

In 2024, I secured $800K for Vashon Community Food Bank for their new food bank and community resource hub to serve more people in need.

They are doing incredibly important work to provide for our neighbors as costs continue to rise, and I’m proud to support it.

Republicans are dismissing the real economic pain that Americans are feeling.

They don’t care that their policies are increasing your prices.

Longtime Seattle political columnist dies Former Seattle Post-Intelligencer columnist Joel Connelly was a respected political commentator and fierce defender of the Pacific Northwest's wilderness areas.

Joel Connelly was an institution in Seattle journalism, with a career that spanned decades. He covered so much in his time, and it was always a joy to hear his stories from reporting over the years.

He will be missed and my heart is with his family.

Speaker Johnson speaks at a podium. Text from a Common Dreams Article is above and below it. Headline reads: "In Dead of Night, Johnson Tries—But Fails—to Ram Through Domestic Spying Bill for Trump."

Below is more text with one paragraph saying, '“Let me be clear,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) explaining her no vote in a statement. “There is no new warrant requirement in tonight’s amendment to FISA reauthorization. It does absolutely nothing to fix the massive loopholes in 702 collection that allow the government to spy on Americans without a warrant. It does nothing to fix the data broker loophole. And it slaps a 5-year extension on this bill so that this White House can continue to spy on Americans and violate our privacy rights for an even longer time.”'

In the middle of the night, Republican leadership tried to jam through legislation that allows the government to spy on Americans without a warrant.

I voted NO. We need serious privacy reform to protect the American people.

The Trump administration has cut LEGAL immigration 2.5x as much as undocumented immigration, which had already fallen before Trump took office.

We need to do everything we can to provide a glimmer of hope and protect the communities that are at risk right now.

As one of the few naturalized citizens to serve in Congress, it is difficult to constantly listen to the anti-immigrant rhetoric coming from Republicans.

The reality is that immigrants contribute so much to our communities. I'm grateful to everyone who understands that.

It is an outrage that in the richest country in the world, the wealthiest 1% own 50% of the country’s wealth.

That’s why I introduced my Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act alongside @warren.senate.gov — so the rich pay their fair share, and we can actually invest in all Americans.

GOOD NEWS: @pressley.house.gov & Rep. Gillen's bill to extend Temporary Protected Status for Haiti passed the House!

This bill would protect the Haitian community from being forced to return to real and imminent harm. I’m proud to have led the floor debate for it today!

Yesterday, 40 Democratic senators voted for Senator Sanders's legislation to block the sale of more weapons and equipment to Israel.

While these measures ultimately did not pass, this is real progress — Americans do not want U.S. weapons to be used to kill innocent civilians.

JUST NOW: All but ONE Republican voted NO on reining in Trump and demanding a stop to the war in Iran.

They’re fine with raising your gas prices and letting more people die. When will Republicans finally stand up?

While U.S. service members are killed and we waste billions on an illegal war, the madman in the White House is raging at the Pope and pretending he is Jesus.

Congress must rein him in and stop this unconstitutional war NOW.

This #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, I’m honoring Ashlee Anderson, who passed away after giving birth to her first and only son.

Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes. Congress must act to ensure all mothers get the care they need.

This Tax Day, Americans across the country are sending money to an administration that is turning around and using that $ for illegal wars and tax breaks for the rich.

It’s a broken system that we must urgently reform.

Trump’s budget director couldn’t answer how much the average American pays in federal income taxes.

They don't care that while Americans can't afford health care or gas, the largest corporations paid ZERO in federal taxes and we're wasting billions on illegal wars.

Trump and his administration campaigned on going after the “worst of the worst” undocumented immigrants.

Instead, they are implementing their real agenda: Stopping ALL legal immigration, period.

I’m so proud to honor Lauren and Rachel, the co-founders of World Without Exploitation, on Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026 list!

They've lifted the voices of survivors, built a real sisterhood of support, and fought to release the Epstein files. This is such a well deserved recognition!
