Hearts confirmed that Eva Olid will depart as the women's head coach at the end of the season.
She could leave as a league champion. Even if she doesn't, @thejameskeep.bsky.social explains why her tenure has been a success.

Heart of Midlothian Women are top of the SWPL after the split for the first time.
It came after beating title rivals Glasgow City for the first time.
They are just five games from title success.

On a completely unrelated note here's a review of Hearts' cup defeat on Sunday. One which highlighted the vulnerability of Hearts' formation against the big SWPL teams.

She went 854 days without playing football but clocked up 14 games since return in August. Scored one goal in that time (422 minutes of football. Again, roughly translates to one goal in five full 90 minutes ).
Obviously we judge all players on the actions, but Newcastle have signed a 30-year -od striker who has scored 16 goals in 81 games. That's one goal every five games...

I assume personal reasons just means she wants to play for a club with ambition? Charlton look like the ticket for anyone who wants to play in the WSL.
Murphy is easily Newcastle's best player and sad to see she's keen to move on.
I guess this is kind of almost maybe like a new signing... ish.
(To be clear: absolutely no shade on Orla here, she's one fkr the future and I'm delighted she will be sticking around for a while).
Easy choices.
Look, I'm not saying they're not taking Hamilton incredibly seriously, but this is a good game for Hearts to do some squad rotation.
I get the need to manage her return but Hunter on the bench, after what we saw in last week's encounter, is absolute madness to me.
Update: the second half has been better, but the time-wasting is still next level.
This might be the worst game of football I've ever been to. And I went to a league one match without a single shot on goal.
The Scotland National Team announced June friendlies for the men way back in January but no fixtures announced for the women with less than a month to go before the international window.
Inequality takes many forms, this is one of them.
And they wonder why attendances aren't growing...
Hearts Women moved up to fourth in the SWPL ahead of a big cup clash with Hibs.
Two of Eva Olid's three excellent striking options combined to devastating effect in the first half.
Goalkeeper Rachel Johnstone came up with a big second-half moment.

A potent strike partnership is forming for Hearts Women.
It was on show in the 5-1 win over Aberdeen on Sunday and offers a huge positive ahead of tougher tests.

On top of that: Attendances were dropping, week on week, and so were YouTube livestreams (more important than you think). Important the club pull the trigger now to try and rejuvenate fan interest. Already seven points off an automatic promotion spot, the next appointment needs to be spot on. #NUFC
Becky Langley was great servant for Newcastle United over last six years, and it's important to recognise that, but anyone who watched the performances this season could see the writing on the wall. Performances were poor, no strategy, formation didn't suit the players. Club needed a change. #NUFC

Thank goodness for Glasgow City, single handedly keeping Scotland's coefficient on life support.

Carly Johns is in fine form and Bayley Hutchinson is back: Now Hearts just need them to repeat that against the big clubs.
In Glasgow for the Scotland match today (will catch up on the Hearts game via YouTube, bare with me) so of course I'm going to go watch Glasgow City v Partick Thistle first.
A nice North Glasgow derby to start the day.
Its interesting to see Jas McQuade get a first call up too. Wth her and Charlotte Wardlaw in the U23s and Freya Gregory in the senior squad, Newcastle United are becoming an accidental Scotland stronghold south of the border.
Bayley Hutchinson, Eilidh Shore, and Monica Forsyth all make the latest Scotland U23 squad. Hearts are the joint most-represented club alongside Rangers & Hibernian. #HMFC
Yeah, it's an interesting twist on how the men's league cup works but definitely weird on the timing front. Who needs a summer holiday anyway...
Selfishly, as a fan of a team that will likely more often than not finish in the "3rd-6th" places, it doesn't seem to affect me too much 😅
Oh absolutely, especially in the Hearts game given how few changes Montrose made to their starting 11. Going to be interesting to see how they line up when the twi meet again on Sunday. I guess these teams will be glad of the new group stage format 😬
Hahaha, very fair. 😂 I'm sure Montrose would have rallied if not for that justice.
Carly Johns keeps up her Hearts hot streak and Georgia Hunter takes a big step in her comeback.
What we learned watching Heart of Midlothian Women demolish Montrose in the SWPL cup. #HMFC
