Good piece but, tho' it's true Labour are edging to seeking something like 'Chequers', it's misleading to call that the "Chequers deal" - it was a proposal, most of which was rejected by the EU (e.g. Tusk statement after Salzburg summit 09/18).

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

In practice, a Reform government would be more likely to remove the legal status of 2-3 million people - and hope quite a lot of them leave. The removal of those without legal status is not something Yusuf appears to have given much serious thought to. [Farage used to say it was obvs impossible]

What I see it’s going to happen, it’s Europe as EU is forging a more closer alliance not just about people and economy but also about defence and security. NATO Europe is soon going to be a reality. UK always opposed a EU defence. Time will come and they need to chose to be part or not of this.
