Louisiana Tech to Pay Record Exit Fee to End 20-Game Schedule Mess Louisiana Tech’s football team was scheduled to play 20 games this fall, but will pay a Conference USA record exit fee of more than $8 million.

My university will cough up an $8 million penalty to Conference USA for withdrawing from the league early. I can't tell you how much $8 million means to a midsize public university in one of the poorest congressional districts in the country. This is near criminal, and someone better lose their job.
