The Library of Congress has announced 25 new films added to the National Film Registry. Two silents from the teens have been preserved with NFPF funding and are now available to stream on the NFPF's website: THE OATH OF THE SWORD (1914) & THE MAID OF MCMILLAN (1916). THE MAID OF MCMILLAN (1916) is the earliest known student film, made at Washington University in St. Louis and preserved by the WashU Libraries' Film & Media Archive.

THE OATH OF THE SWORD (1914) was produced by the Japanese American Film Company in 1914 and preserved by @eastmanmuseum.bsky.social and @jamuseum.bsky.social.
