Always thought the concept of the 'neck pour' was a load of old tosh - science agrees 😁

It will then be subject to differing temperatures, it will depend on how quickly the bottle goes down, where it is stored etc.
Yes, some drams improve while the bottle goes down, but the first pour is the only dram the producer effectively can control.
Me too. If you pour 28 drams at one time from a bottle, you’ll never know which one was at the neck. It may be a thing if you had a dram a night, but that also has oxidation starting as soon as the bottle is open and is not consistent - 🧵
America. This is where you should realise what your right to bear arms is about - overthrowing tyrannical government and not just slaughtering school kids.
Your great nation is being ruined by a slavering incompetent orangutan with criminal tendencies.
Oh and a night out in Newcastle is always grand. Had some brilliant runs ashore there.
NWF Aberdeen is always in the years I’ve been going, in the second weekend of September.
Pretty poor that producers of a product made in Scotland can’t even support a festival in Scotland’s third largest city.
There was a whisky festival in Newcastle the same day. From what I gathered from those manning some of the stands, brands didn’t want to spend the money going to two shows on the same day, and saw Newcastle as the better option.
Very sad.
The National Whisky Festival in Aberdeen last year was shite too. Same idea, hardly any producers compared to previous years, and gin plus an investment company making an appearance.
Won’t be planning to return.
Murder ballad? In that it makes you want to kill?
Actually written by Ewan MacColl for a woman he had an affair with, I believe.
Damn right I’ll make a 6 hr round trip to get it! My Vantage card is my photo id is from my first trip on a rig in the North Sea 25 years ago, though worked on ships a few years prior. I still look fresh faced…
…gonna hold onto that puppy!
My Easter was fantastic. Nice letter from Police Scotland saying my wallet that went missing on Feb 13th has turned up. And if I want it back I have to go to Aberdeen to get it.
There’s no money in it and the cards have been replaced. All apart from my offshore Vantage Card. 🧵
Guys, whisky was given to us as kids for treating toothache before we were 10. That’s where I got my penchant for Famous Grouse..
😉
If there are any worries about cork debris or sediment, put a coffee filter into a bottle funnel. Takes a while to get the whisky back in the bottle but will be contaminate free.
Glen Scotia Campbeltown Harbour 40%.
Been given it as a surprise present. What’s it like?
Decant into another bottle. Get the cork out and if you so wish, put whiskey back into original bottle with new cork.
It will affect the spirit as the high abv will break down the cork. That’s why you don’t lie spirits on their sides like wine, and why cask bungs are at the top when racked.
I’ve got that in the “to be read” pile. I’ll await recommendation to see if it moves up or down in my stack.
Currently listening to “A Night At The Opera”.
It’s a massive blast from the past.
A finer Queen album you will not find.
Trump is one day closer to dying.
Unfortunately so are the rest of us, but hopefully he goes first. Then the US can apologise to the world for its recent awkward phase and return to being normal.
Well, as normal as you can hope for. 😉
It’s almost an identical situation as Piper Alpha after the initial explosion. Everybody too shit scared to stop production.
The controller obviously didn’t think he was able to stop the job, just like the OIM’s who didn’t shut down and back fed the fire on Piper.
It didn’t take much to find the auction.
Not a spirit auctioneer, so makes sense.
Wouldn’t surprise me if there was body fluids in there. 😉
Given how strict auctions have been with fill levels over the past decade, they must be getting desperate to accept that.
What a tool. The owner, not the car.
If it makes you feel better and more successful, people often have a higher idea of what success compared to what others see them as. Not feeling successful doesn’t mean you aren’t.
Just trying your best and ending the day still breathing is a great success. Many fail that simple goal. 🙂
Every day when I have not told somebody exactly what I think of their stupidity makes me feel like a champ.
Therefore I don’t feel that successful too often. 😉
We’re not going to help. We’re going to protect our interests since Drump set light to to blue touch paper in the region.
This fire will burn for years, long after he has gone.
I remember when the fountains used to work and the topiary beside the pond used to look more like stills.
It’s one of the newer distilleries in Speyside. Was completed in 1960. The row of houses beside it all designed to look older than they are.
They weren’t. And it’s clear to see after the event. The plan was to build their business with other people’s money in my opinion. Always was.
Effectively they asset stripped and left a £33m fire sale. Again, my opinion.
Head filled with Heineken shares and other general hypocrisy. The BBC programme rips him apart.
He knew exactly what way the wind was blowing for some time and that’s why both of them resigned to distance themselves from the inevitable crash of the company. That’s my opinion.
That’s as corporate a move as you can get.
And still people think they are punk. 🤦🏻♂️
