The logo for the Peterborough Beer Festival depicting a stylised image of the cathedral incorporating barley and hops.
Yesterday we revealed the logo for this year's Peterborough Beer Festival, and I gotta admit, it's gorgeous!
This is quite astonishing. Can’t pretend I understand it all, and am not sure I 100% agree with conclusions, but a social studies academic analyses pub closures in a totally different way from anyone else ever has and comes up with some extraordinary insights. laurenleek.substack.com/p/britain-lo...

Info on cask is here but it isn't easy to find, also a bit out of date ( will see if we can sort that next week) adnams.co.uk/pages/corebe...
The cask beer info is a bit hidden !! Info on golden gull probably went go up till next week but it's a golden/ blonde ale with barley, wheat, oats and Opus hops. Light spice notes, from the wheat and a touch of citrus from the Opus
Really nice interview with Evin here
Here is the second part of my mini documentary on the @thornbridge.bsky.social Burton Union, which takes a closer look at its recent collaboration with Theakston’s, and features a few familiar faces.

This is very good
Trump sincerely believes Norway stole “his” Nobel Peace Prize.
That isn’t a joke. It’s the key to understanding his second presidency.
We have to drop the self-delusion, over-intellectualisation and listen to him. America is no longer Europe’s ally.

This week in @thetimes.com it’s a tricky one. “Write about your eight favourite breweries” they said. EIGHT?! Not a hundred? Apologies to the other 92 breweries I adore. You know who you are. But these 8 are truly special. (Paywall) www.thetimes.com/magazines/th...
Ah, not..
Should be on til end of Feb 👍

Great powers have always, to some extent, written the rules for themselves. But this should be a reminder that for all we might lament the “rules based order”, it’s largely gone, if it ever existed. Hard power is the only thing which matters now. Europe needs to wake up to the new realities.
Pubs are not just for Xmas so here’s my guide to a pub for every month of the year in today’s @dailystar.co.uk and a recommended beer for each - includes @thefreetradeinn.bsky.social City Arms, Manchester, Lord Nelson, Southwold, Whitlock’s, Leeds and the Brunswick, Derby - pubs for all seasons!
Cheers Adrian 👍

#Adnams will be opening to customers tomorrow at The Old Post Office in St Andrews St South, #BuryStEdmunds
The new shop is part of the council's redevelopment of the site after the Post Office moved location. Council leader Cllr Cliff Waterman visited the store on Friday to see it being readied.

After a year of increasingly dire developments at the pioneering PNW craft brewer, last month it abruptly shuttered all its locations, declaring bankruptcy the day before Thanksgiving. At @vinepair.com, I charted Rogue's rise & fall against the fate of the craft-brewing industry it helped to create.
