last week @maxwellfrost.bsky.social and @lilsimsie.bsky.social hosted a stardew valley livestream to educate viewers on how they can help oppose saudi arabia’s purchase of EA. the conclusion to this saga might feel inevitable, but they still believe there’s time to stop it

Not everything that breaks is technically the fault of vibe coding but the kind of culture that would foster vibe coding is the kind that produces a lot of shit that breaks.
"Goto your Steam™ library Leave a review for a smaller game you like Now tell me what it was" There's a very crudely drawn Steam logo in the middle. In the bottom right, there's an even crudely-er drawn frog, and the sideways text reads "I am a graphic design terrorist"
With regards to that last repost, reviews can mean a lot to smaller developers, so I'm gonna put out a little call to action. Everyone following me? DO THIS NOW! I'm asking for replies so more folks pick this up, and continue it. Please take this graphic and ask your followers to do the same!

A slide from my upcoming PyTexas talk about vibe coding and AI. PyTexas is in beautiful Austin this year, April 17 to 19. www.pytexas.org/2026/
If you see this today and it pisses you off, I'd like to point you towards keepandroidopen.org for some actionable steps you can take to make it harder for Google Play to arbitrarily police the games you're allowed to play on the phone you paid for.
"No," the swordmaster said.
"One does not refuse the king," the herald said.
"I do. I will not train his soldiers or officers, I will not tell my students to join his army, I will not support his unjust war."
"You will regret this!"
"No," the swordmaster said.
I know the generators aren't the main point here, but I used to live in a high hurricane risk area, and the smell and sound of a bunch of home generators running all at once is torturous. I can't imagine living or working near hundreds of presumably larger ones during a power outage.
A black and white cat stares at the camera from the edge of the porch.
#notmycat on #caturday but this little cat has been watching us through our patio door for like a week, edging a little bit closer every day. I think he either wants us to let him in, or he's waiting for our chihuahua to come out and fight.
I saw another good solution in this thread where you get the cliffs notes whenyou pick a book up, but the full text is available to you if you want it: bsky.app/profile/arta...
I appreciate it when the game makes it clear that I'm not reading the whole book, like the text that appears explicitly says that what I'm reading is a summary or an excerpt. You only need to do that a couple of times before players begin to assume that's the case with all the books, too.
Fridge food on the countertop/in a cabinet/in my inventory, for DAYS and then I'm supposed to eat it.
I know realism there would make everything harder to play, but I'm just constantly thinking about how my character is gonna have food poisoning.
Currently spending the time I have set aside to take either a nap or a walk waffling between the two options and doing neither.
CEO Explains How The Future Of Tech Is Himself Being Wealthy
If you replace your entire workforce after each project, you’ll never grow the generational talent your studio could be known for. You’ll never be Disney, or Ghibli, or Nintendo.
Here are Dave and David's full unedited comments for those interested:
I'm sorry but if you have 4,000 employees and your revenue is 6 billion, you make 1.5 million per employee and if you can't make a profit margin there, you are simply embezzling it.

A placeholder artwork in Slay The Spire 2, depicting the Silent showing the trophy of her hunt, a piece of the Corrupt Heart, to her sisters, each of which standing on their own preys.

A placeholder artwork for a card named Gang Up in Slay The Spire 2, depicting the Ironclad, the Regent and the Necrobinder, beating the ever living hell out of Fogmog, an enemy in the game.
"Oh i dont have any budgets, that's why i used AI as placeholder voices, images and musics"
❌WRONG❌
Slay The Spire 2, the MOST anticipated roguelike deckbuilder of the year, uses these silly scribbles as placeholder arts, and they are 1000 times more charming than any slop those will ever produce.
Frog and Toad craddle warm cups of tea in their hands, as they sit in cozy chairs in front of the fire. From "Shivers" In *Days with Frog and Toad*
The night was cold and dark.
“Listen to the wind howling in the trees,” said Frog. “What a fine time for a ghost story.”
FINALLY a character with neck movement noises players over 30 can relate to.
Ally Sheedy's 'makeover' in The Breakfast Club with the text DLSS 5 OFF and DLSS 5 ON.
This has always been one of the bigger overhype flags for me. I don't get how people can believe that this is so much easier than what programmers already do, AND at the same time that the skills are so hard to pick up that anyone who isn't doing it this second can never learn. That's doublethink.
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Currently helping an elderly family friend figure out if an email is a scam (which it obviously is) and hey, people who make mobile email apps, it's a dark pattern to not make the email address of the sender visible without needing to click on the little arrow thing.
Just thought you should know.
Anyone saying "Scientists don't want you to know this fact" has never met a scientist.
Scientists are famous oversharers. They can't wait to tell you all the nerdy details.
A machine is more blameless, more sinless even than any animal. It has no intentions whatsoever but our own.

Dug into this absolutely wild thing happening to Finji. The deeper I read into their increasingly baffling conversations with TikTok "support" the more I felt like I was on something.
