imagine sitting on a potential challenger to the current bloc of social media platforms people are on but dislike for various reasons and going "no, no I must burn through my userbase's goodwill as fast as possible because I'm too bitter that funny trans women are more popular than AI dweebs"

it will never not be funny how they thought bsky was going to be a google campus and instead they got tumblr and they absolutely h a t e it
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
BAFTA pulling a trailer for an autobiographical game about surviving sexual assault only hours before it was said to be a part of a showcase is an exceptionally bad look.
It was and still is wild how this guy got to be an open Gater, changed or apologized for none of it, and everyone chose to ignore or make defenses for it with KCD2.
The lead singer of Imagine Dragons helped create a game studio. It launched a live-service shooter this week on PC. It advertised it with the band's social accounts (10 million followers)
It has yet to reach over 600 concurrent players on Steam.
Stop making live-service games, folks.
Not once in the 80s, 90s or 00s do I recall a politician urging the public to embrace email, mobile phones, texting, two factor authentication, online banking, air fryers, or to replace all their cassette collection with a CD collection.
So forgive me if I smell a rat.
Exactly one year ago today:
OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit
Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here
Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse
Media and universities: AI is here to stay
The only reason they said yes to making a Bloodborne movie is because movies also don't exceed 24 fps
Yeah as a comic book fan this whole frenzy around TCGs the last few years just gives me the absolute heebie-jeebies.
I've always wanted to get into TCGs and figures this would be a good place to start.
Then I saw the pricing and noped the fuck out. It's so egregiously expensive.
There is no UNIVERSE where I'm spending $208 NZD on a cloth playmat
the more inequality grows, the more every ultrabillionaire on the planet should be fearing for their safety at all times
an unconscious free reign to say/do whatever they want to and never hold themselves accountable in the event they go too far. Collective responsibility should also mean being able to call out people who take things too far, even with the best of intentions.
Maybe I'm totally off base with this. 2/2
Maybe it's simply because I'm not a public figure and don't have a following, but can it not also be up to individuals to avoid escalating these situations? I absolutely understand wanting to hold someone with a platform accountable for their actions, but my concern is that it gives audiences 1/2
What I'm saying is, a number of people immediately jumped to the worst conclusions about the guy. So no shit his responses would become passive aggressive at best from that point on.
Nah, what was valid criticism quickly devolved into a whole lot of piling on and "Drake is a terrible Human being" and that just kinda sucks y'all. Doesn't excuse his response either but people aren't helping the case when they start going on about "typical white men refusing to listen to people."
Turns out the internet still hasn't learnt that collectively piling onto someone and saying they're a terrible person isn't the best way to get them on their side. Real shocker there.
So ya'll want indie stuff...but won't fund the indie stuff...but also get mad when the indie stuff is being funded or collaborating with other industries in order to get things going?
Got it....I see...

how is anyone supposed to get work done dude. that's live. that's earth, right now, right this minute, and in an hour they are gonna splash in the sea. too in awe to think about where we'd be if this is what we funneled our tax dollars to instead of bombs that make gas prices quintuple overnight
this is a flatly insane thing for our species to do.
Space is fucking cool y'all
Awesome! So does this mean I'll finally be paid an actual living wage for all the shows I've written for and voiced in?
This is Cathy Rutherford, Glasgow born trade unionist. I love this clip, but even more for knowing that it stems from a core of lifelong political activism
