This is as beautiful a thing as you'll see in all your life. Hope, after months of darkness.

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
Abysmal, immoral, cruel, small hearted, tiny minded, ineffective, undemocratic, and just generally utterly indecent. What a bitter godforesaken disappointment these people are.

“Exporters the world over could now be owed billions of dollars. For UK industry, this ruling underlines the instability of doing deals with Trump's USA and the importance of forging deeper more reliable trade with our EU neighbours.”
Fairly certain that’s the evening I fell over in the car park and sprained my ankle! 😂
We need to try to establish new forms of co-operative support on the ground for people who want to start and develop new co-operatives. 💼

Just back from restarting my aim to walk all the streets in #Shrewsbury after a difficult year with body “stuff” going on. Managed 16 more streets today and met some interesting and very nice people. So, totals to date:
Streets walked: 1,139
Steps taken: 521,598
Miles walked: 252.922
every day lately I read something that will stay with me forever. this is beautifully written and absolutely heart shattering.
This has made my day - little things that have driven me mad for years!
A street closed to through-traffic. A bright blue two-way cycle lane runs through it. There is a planting as part of a drainage system. There are cycle racks full of bikes. There is some chalk writing on the pavement from where children have been playing. Two pedestrians walk into the distance away from the camera.
🗓️ 🗪 Did you know we have a public meeting called #6to8? It takes place on the first Monday of every month, between 6pm and 8pm at The Warehouse on Allison Street in Digbeth. There's an open agenda. See you there?
Great news for #socialenterprise this morning!
Excellent analysis from @jamestplunkett.bsky.social couldn’t agree more👏👏👏👏
Why join the movement for economic justice in #Birmingham ?Head of EJB @cathyab.bsky.social explains all.
Properly funding the court system would clear the backlog even more quickly.

A picture with a colourful medieval border and the words The Shortest Day by Susan Cooper And so the Shortest Day came and the year died And everywhere down the centuries of the snow-white world Came people singing, dancing, To drive the dark away. They lighted candles in the winter trees; They hung their homes with evergreen; They burned beseeching fires all night long To keep the year alive. And when the new year’s sunshine blazed awake They shouted, reveling. Through all the frosty ages you can hear them Echoing behind us—listen! All the long echoes, sing the same delight, This Shortest Day, As promise wakens in the sleeping land: They carol, feast, give thanks, And dearly love their friends, And hope for peace. And now so do we, here, now, This year and every year. Welcome, Yule!

Woman with short dark blue hair, smiling, on a train. She is wearing a headdress of antlers and green leaves with two red, long tailed birds attached to it.
Work Christmas do. Pagan death metal festive antlers. Forgot the secret Santa present. Ah well! #hohoho
It’s such an ADHD thing. Soft/warm/inertia. You already have the wine so you haven’t even got to sort that out. My considered view is you’ve got very little hope of getting out there. Many, many kudos if you do!
I would probably have to leave the house now without either getting ready or eating, because otherwise there would be no hope at all!

We've been overwhelmed by the number (and quality!) of people expressing interest in these roles, so going to close to the window at Thursday lunchtime.
Watch this space for more on the new inititiative. Should be able to say more early next week.
Abandoned law degree at Birmingham Uni at 19, and got as far as a PGDip at Northampton Uni but abandoned MSc 20 years later. Tried again with OU recently. Thought I’d set myself up to fail but after ADHD diagnosis aged 53, their support & understanding is unparalleled, it’s reversed years of shame.
Outstanding.
I've written about the concerted effort by the combined forces of the right to turn convicted race hate monger Lucy Connolly into a victim, a saint and a martyr.

Picture of a smiling woman with purple hair in front of her open door. She is on crutches with a dressing on her left knee. Her green ‘t’ shirt says Bionic Woman on it in multicoloured letters.
Sooooo… this happened yesterday. #TKR
I know!
