A day later and no major national news org has covered what they're doing in Kansas.

This is the flip side of the hyper focus on trans issues by the right. The national media ignores what's actually being done to trans people.

This erasure is what contributes to the persecution.

“The most anti capitalist protest is to care for one another and to care for oneself…To take seriously each other’s vulnerability and fragility and precarity and to support it, honor it, empower it. To protect each other, to enact and practice a community of support.—Johanna Hedva, Sick Woman Theory

How to Kidnap an Audience: On breaking the spell of our training as consumers People get broken all the time, there’s no art in that, but there is an art in making spaces where we can be broken open with a chance of healing.

“how do we make work that breaks through these habits, this way of consuming culture that leaves us untouched, where we don’t become vulnerable, don’t risk being changed by the experience?”

““If you intensify & complete your subjective emotions, visions, you see their relation to others’ emotions. It is not a question of choosing between them, one at the cost of another, but a matter of completion, of inclusion, an encompassing, unifying, & integrating which makes maturity.”—Anais Nin

Gardening as Resistance: Notes on Building Paradise “Can you plant a garden to stop a war? It depends how you think about time. It depends what you think a seed does, if it’s tossed into fertile soil.”

“Disguise it to yourself as you will, the majority does want a dictator… A big mass likes to be shoved as a whole because it feels it moves and they cannot possibly feel that they move themselves as little masses can, there you are, like it or not there we are.”

Yes. The surge of nationalism everywhere is as predictable as it is unsettling. Everywhere around me I’m seeing wartime vocabulary and wartime mentality. Who does nationalism ultimately profit?

I like that as a take on the rule of thumb… one handful at a time. Neuroscience says we can hold up to 4 things in mind at once; after that we break it up into chunks, 3+2, 3+3, 3+4, 4+4, 3+3+3, etcetera. (So relatable as a musician). I’m gonna try your handful approach on my task management too!

Claude Cahun with hearts on their face and I AM IN TRAINING DON'T KISS ME shirt

There is always something you can do to gum up the works of fascism.

A story. Claude Cahun. The queer nonbinary French-Jewish photographer.

Nazis conquered France, were training soldiers on Jersey, where Cahun lived w/their partner, Marcel Moore.

They did disinfo & morale smashing via Surrealism.

Watching Canadians back into a trauma fight response en masse is so alarming. But it’s predictable- classic predator modus operandus: induce a trauma response because people are easier to manipulate if their thinking are brains offline. Everywhere I look I see the mindset and language of wartime.
