Mississippi is on @runforsomething.net's Battle Up list for a reason -- we believe with sustained investment and smart plays, MS can be a long-term battleground. There's potential here 👀

Water is political. Power grids are political. Jackie McGuire is proving local leadership is where climate fights actually happen. She’s pushing for transparency and protecting Marana’s resources.

This is really interesting, both the person interviewing and the person interviewed (I don't think Swalwell was all that well known outside of American politics? Just to give context, he was gearing up to be nominated for governor of California)

100% this. The next gen of leaders can’t feel AI-generated or calculated. They can be supported, empowered, enabled — but not manufactured.

I’ve been thinking about this and how the internet, for all its flaws, does allow women content creators to break through the noise and actually make a difference.
This article is soo good. Amanda spells out how influencers worked to help bring about Swalwell’s comeuppance. Really valuable insight.
"Pissed-off women started this. Pissed-off women are why he is where he is today."
A reminder that when Epstein couldn’t convince Vicky Ward to back off her reporting by threatening her with miscarriage, he got her Vanity Fair Editor to push her off the sex trafficking part of her piece. #EpsteinFiles
Great conversation.
I was so interested in the posting strategy, too. I’m fascinated by how the exact same content that I cross post on each platform is received wildly differently!!
This is a fascinating discussion, including how Fodor VERY strategically chose the platforms to start airing what she was hearing about Swalwell (hint: not Bluesky!) and how tough it’s been on her to be at the center of this news storm
The rise of Swalwell was not surprising — stupid bad men succeed all the time.
His fall, however, has shocked me. Part of why he faced consequences is the horrific nature of what he did.
But I also suspect it’s partially bc of the way the story broke: Content creators were the tip of the spear.

“Q: But what you’ve described to me is a very strategic way of engaging across platforms, thinking about how to build a conversation and a message, building behind the scenes — that’s just smart.
A: That’s how modern candidates win, Amanda. And that’s why the old guard is on their way out.”

Very interesting about “content creators” vs traditional journalism and the details of how pissed off women took down the predator Swalwell.
This was a bit harrowing, but a really interesting analysis of what happened. Key take away; the whisper network is not gossip.
💥EXCELLENT writing about the fall of Swalwell and the "non-reporters" that helped that story bubble to the surface before it was able to be killed. 👇

Next-gen leaders have to graapple with both how we sound and how we communicate.
Just wild to see a page from my book come to life.
Boomers gonna boom. Always.

After the response to the Gaza protests in 2024 & 2024, I don’t blame young people for seeking a different way of civic engagement. Not being in the streets does not mean they don’t give a shit.
The discourse is back re: why young people weren’t at the No Kings marches.
Putting aside a convo about protesting - last year @runforsomething.net had 80k+ young ppl look into running for office & we have record #s applying for endorsements. They’re not apathetic! They’re focused.
