I’m in love with this new song from Flea’s upcoming Jazz album, Honora. Lots of influences coming through, but especially Jaco Pastorius and Weather Report, mixed with some Fela Kuti and more. Can’t wait to hear the rest.

I'm a graphic designer and movie lover, so naturally, I needed to start a Substack where I write about how the two things intersect. We'll see how this goes . . .

Filmmaker Erin Everson made a wonderful short documentary about my wife’s mission to honor her late dad by completing his unfinished bucket list. youtu.be/Pee9yqGvNXY
It’s rare that I walk out of a movie theater completely charged up. But it happens every single time I see a Paul Thomas Anderson film.
Ha, whatever it takes!
I wish I were there! It must be electric.
24 years ago I was living in Seattle, and the city’s enthusiasm around the #Mariners and their division championship made me a lifelong fan. Tonight I’m celebrating alone in my living room in New Jersey, but my heart is fully in the PNW right now. Postseason. Let’s go!
Took a trip to Garden of the Gods in Colorado.
THE TINGLER was released on this day in 1959. Designed this poster because I love William Castle and all of his schlock.
Wow, what a week for ‘80s celebs.
Unearthed this amazing old bookmark @mcsweeneys.net sent me years ago. Still love it.
Do I need a restraining order against Duolingo?
As I shake off the doldrums of winter and lace up my running shoes, I’m once again reminded of this open letter to asthma I wrote at McSweeney’s years ago. The inhaler remains, but at least my cat allergies seem to have vanished.

Sinners gives me a sliver of hope for Hollywood. More of these kinds of films, please.
Poster for the film The Assessment
Watching this for a second time. An interesting tale of population control in an authoritarian future where the environment has been destroyed. Wait, is it the future?
Apparently I’ve dressed the same way for at least 40 years.

Thanks to the hipster who passed me on the highway earlier today I can confirm that a standard bike rack on a Subaru Outback can indeed carry a penny-farthing.
Sorcerer 4k cover from upcoming Criterion Collection release
Take my money, Criterion!
I keep thinking about this Playstation 2 commercial that David Lynch directed lately. It’s on brand for him, not so much for Sony.
