Death books are great. Read them and decide for yourself. but he has various genres. My personal favorite genre of discworld is the City Watch. but your mileage may vary. At the end of the day, if you generally enjoyed reaper man, you'll probably enjoy most of them.

Both before and after it was fairly common to have someone at any level of experience who was fairly incompetent. Engineering is such a black box to most of the rest of an organization it's easy to fake expertise
