"I'm no Trump fan, but actual, out-loud fascism scares me less than a wealth tax that would've still left me rich beyond the average human being's wildest dreams" is something you couldn't waterboard out of me if I believed it, myself, but hey, go off

Beginning of the knit project on a tray table. Two needles with about ten rows of yarn for the collar of a sweater.
The beginning of a cardigan on knitting needles. It’s the shoulders down to the armpit. No sleeves yet.
The cardigan, knit down a little further now, with four skeins of yarn behind it.

It’s #WIPWednesday! 🧶
This is what I’ve been knitting between Fight the Oligarchy rally stops.
Oversized Seasons Cardigan by Ozetta.
Splurged big-time on the yarn (🫣) but honestly after holding this thing for weeks I’m happy I did. Woolerton Estates in Fluffy. #KnitSky
The image is a screenshot of a post on X by a user named Chicano Marine (@elchicanomarine ), with Mexican and U.S. flag emojis. The post reads: "Ahh… WE have hit the disappearing Union leaders phase of authoritarianism." Below this, there is an image with the text: "ICE detains farmworker union leader Lelo Juarez Zeferino." The image shows a person in a denim shirt against a background split between blue and yellow colors.
Our immigration policies should not be wielded as union busting, political cudgels. Or as ways to suppress freedom of speech or assembly.
Two from-scratch homemade pizzas in the foreground (pepperoni on the right, garlic chicken on the left), and a smoldering fire pit in the background.
Made excellent pizza and had a fire pit last night and it was glorious. This spring has been unseasonably warm, and while I know that’s a Really Terrible Sign (tm) for the planet, I’m cherishing these glorious evenings and being able to dine al fresco.

When scholars of authoritarianism and fascism leave U.S. universities because of the deteriorating political situation here, we should really worry.
Don’t mind me breathing like Darth Vader 😅
A light skinned hand with teal nail polish holds a pair of circular knitting needles containing an in-progress black cashmere hat, and a floofy buff-and-white cat sits in the lap of the knitting person.
A light skinned hand holding a Starbucks cup containing an oat milk latte with a cute drawing of a cat-like creature on the order label.
Having a really hard time enjoying simple pleasures with everything going on right now, but here’s a v little kitty cuteness for the week: Black hat in progress (now finished, not pictured) with kitty helper, and a cute cat on my starbies cup from the other day.
Suggestion: Memorize phone numbers of your three closest contacts — more, if you're able. Recite them every week to stay fresh. Write down your larger trusted contact list, twice. File one with your important papers at home; keep the other offsite with one of those local trusted people.
If you’re going to protest, know your rights.
Two smiling women stand on a beach covered in tide pools, the Pacific Ocean visible in the background. One is wearing a sun hat, the other is wearing glasses.

Went to San Diego last month with the love of my life and it was glorious.

An appeal to journalists and editors.
Calling illegal impoundments “savings” or even “cuts” is journalistic malpractice.
This is not time to to shy away from calling things as they are because you are worried about “balance.” Going along with the con that DOGE is about efficiency is unethical.
A hand holding an embroidery hoop in front of a brick wall. The hoop contains a rectangular scene composed of computer circuit boards and embroidery stitches, combined to create an aerial landscape resembling buildings and trees.
My new aerial embroidery experiment! I had some little circuit boards I thought resembled buildings and paths and added my stitches and trees in the gaps... and I had to add a car park! I imagine it to be a business park or factory grounds. What do you think? I don't usually do mixed media 😊
Omgggggg the buttons!

Picked out my next weaving project and I’m feeling the *feminine energy*
