Name a song you never get tired of.
"Rescue" by Echo and the Bunnymen ("Crocodiles", 1980)
Very close!
Great list.
I'm glad I also got to see all of those bands, all of them a bit earlier than you did. And most of them more than once. They were are all great live (even Smashing Pumpkins, who I only saw once at a festival in 1993).
I think the rock wall in my photo (might also have a chain fence. It's hard to be sure though, I took this photo on an early smartphone, the resolution wasn't great.
I haven't been to Oahu in 11 years now, when I unfortunately had to move back to the mainland. But from what I've been reading I'm glad I got to hike around and take photos before Instagram and TikTok became hugely popular. It seems that many of my fave places to hike/take photos are now off-limits.
Top 5 gigs, in no particular order:
Pixies @ Nighttown, Rotterdam, 1988
Sonic Youth @ Paradiso, Amsterdam, 1989
The Cramps @ Jaap Edenhal, Amsterdam, 1990
Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine @ Melkweg, Amsterdam, 1990
Fugazi @ Paradiso, Amsterdam, 1990

A two lane highway winds along a dramatic, steep coastal cliffside, with a metal guardrail separating the lane from a sheer drop to the deep blue ocean, all beneath a clear blue sky. Photo taken in July 2013, along the Kalanianaʻole Highway, near Makapuʻu Point and Sea Life Park, on the eastern end of the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

A shirtless man sits and is meditating on a rocky cliff edge high above the sprawling beach town of Lanikai that is filled with houses and palm trees, with the blue Pacific Ocean visible on the horizon. Photo taken in July 2013 on Oahu in Hawaii, from the top of the Kaiwa Ridge Trail that is more commonly known as the Lanikai Pillbox Hike.

Beautiful indeed.
A woman in a floral sundress squats on a concrete ledge overlooking a deep blue ocean, adding chalk drawings to the surface of the ledge, which is already inscribed in large white lettering that reads, "THE DEAD MANS CAT WALK," accompanied by a small drawing of a cat. (I took this photo, of my friend, in June 2014, during one of our hikes on the Makapu'u Tom Tom Trail on Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi. The trail is now closed and the ledge has been "off limits" since 2016.)
And I like yours :)
I only had to stand in the right place and click a button at the right time. I had to do that twice, come to think of it, because here is another one...
And still it was already labeled like that in my head ;)
That's much more impressive than my take on a very similar topic.
Is this in Florida?

The movie poster for the 1982 film "The Thing". On top of it is a quote by R.J. MacReady, a character in that film: "'Cause it's different than us, see? 'Cause it's from outer space." #CatchThePhrase #MusicChallenge

An almost daily catchphrase, quote, or meme to inspire or entertain you:
"'Cause it's different than us, see? 'Cause it's from outer space." — R.J. MacReady ("The Thing", 1982)
Amen.
An infographic titled "If the UK were a US state: Where it would rank among 50 states" compares the United Kingdom's performance to US states across 16 metrics. The table shows the UK ranking 1st in nine social and health categories, including life expectancy, homicide rate, gun deaths, healthcare coverage, and paid maternity leave. It ranks 2nd in lowest drug deaths, 3rd in minimum wage, 5th in pupil and environmental performance, 9th in human development, and 10th in lowest obesity. It ranks 51st in GDP per capita, with a footnote explaining that GDP measures the size of an economy while the other 15 metrics measure quality of life. The data reflects 2022–2024 statistics from various international and government sources.

Post a cartoon TV series you love.
The only holy place for this grifter is her bank account.
Post a character that starts with the letter G.

Yes. And to me it's also (maybe even more so) a commentary on a very misogynistic culture. It's about the Donald Trumps and Andrew Tates of the world. The film and novel (which I read first) are as fucked up as those guys are.
I'm glad I've encountered that kind of people from a safe distance only.
