Nov. 20 is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a time to honor the memory of transgender, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people who have died as a result of anti-transgender prejudice and violence. CNP continues to work for a world that protects the safety, dignity and lives of transgender people.
CNP was proud to co-sponsor the first-ever National Queer Presbyterian Gathering this week with the PC(USA), More Light Presbyterians and Advocacy Committee for LGBTQIA+ Equity. About 80 participants gathered at the Presbyterian Center in Louisville, Ky., where CNP leaders led portions of the event.

New Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) constitutional changes effective July 4 add gender identity and sexual orientation to non-discrimination policies and require new questions for ordination candidates. CNP has published an implementation guide with sample questions to assist presbyteries and sessions.
