Lipid-rich apparently makes up less than 1% of canine mammary cancers.
We’ve been giving her lots of treats & toys as she recovers from her surgery. I’m coming up with a bucket list for her. Ideas include a kiddie pool filled with balls & squeaky toys, and going to see snow for the first time.
We’ve been dealing with a lot lately. Having difficulty processing this news as Mochi hasn’t even turned 5 years old yet.

I’ve got a new #Hannibal sorbet in the works. Round 1. Featuring:
• Mangos
• Limes
• Cardamom & saffron-infused simple syrup (not native to Cuba, but would be Hannibal’s exotic imports)
• Pinch edible gold flakes
Mental health update: I was able to make a sheet pan meal using vegetable and shrimp skewers and bottled teriyaki sauce.
I know what I’m capable of and hope I can get there again soon.
At the same time, I’m satisfied with what I’m able to do right now in this moment.

It took me a very long time to learn "do your best" does not mean "give 100% effort even at the expense of your physical or mental health" or "give A+ effort even when it is clearly not appreciated or valued". Sometimes doing your best is heating up a can of soup and going to bed early.
A shachō (company boss) treated my husband and I to sushi and whiskey at an izakaya (Japanese pub) in Matsumoto. Still reeling from the experience! 😳 あおき居酒屋!
