Like I grew up eating corned beef hash at my Grandma's house. My grandma said her Dad used to cook her WW2 military meals at home such as SOS and Corned Beef Hash. She made these for me, and I like it
Corned Beef Hash with potatoes, onions, corned beef, and some salt and pepper is the bomb

What's funny is I had a great grandfather who fought in WW2, and a 2nd great grandfather in WW1. They both ate cold corned beef out of the tin for survival...
Their gay af therian great and great great grandchild eats cold corned beef for pleasure. Canned or sliced at a deli, I'll eat it for fun XD
My favorite sandwich is a Reuben! Hot or cold I'll eat it lol. This variety is corned beef, sauerkraut, Dijon mustard, and aged Gouda!
When I order a griddled Reuben I prefer 1000 Island Dressing, and extra sauerkraut like almost as thick as the meat XD
@ashenhowl.bsky.social made me a cake! You guys, she's gonna make me cry on main ππ
Doggy has lost weight, and my bone looks bigger!

He looks like a mobster, but in an adorable cuddly teddy bear kinda way and I vibe with it π
She was there for me a lot in my life, and I owe a part of who I am to her and above all else she was a strong woman who grew up on a farm and worked herself from a cotton picking young lady picking cotton for change, to saving up money to move to Texas and now her grandkids are in college.
In regards to my great aunt, she inspired me a lot, she encouraged me from a young age to be myself, to love history the way I do and she is a reason why I researched our family tree.
She taught me many valuable lessons on history, and we had many fun times together.
I just feel like a disappointment to myself rn, there's more going on, but I'm not gonna get into it in full detail
This week alone has just drained me, I have a fungal infection, my aunt is in hospice and is expected to pass away in 2 weeks or less, between two jobs and my new one has communication issues between HR and my manager over my time off requests, etc
I'm tired of struggling
Just found out from my Mom that my aunt is in hospice and very weak, she likely won't survive the next 2 weeks...
I just, I feel like the past month has kicked me in the balls
I'm trying to stay optimistic and on my feet
These come from the 16th century and before, so while distant in my family tree I still have documentation of it, and genetic testing proved these discoveries as I have autosomal DNA markers associated with modern Italian DNA markers as well!
I wanna explore more of my Italian roots, and document more of my ancestors into my family tree I'm working on!
Both my parents have Italian ancestors, with my Mom having some roots in Northeastern Italy, primarily Bassano del Grappa and Venice!
My Dad has some roots in Tuscany and Milan!
I want to emulsify it with xantham gum, as it will provide a stronger emulsion and ensure the olive oil from the preserved Calabrian chiles, and the vinegar won't separate π
Once I get more money I wanna create my own pepper sauce without fermenting my own peppers as I have roommates, and a dog that will do anything for food scraps XD
My plan is to buy a jar of preserved Calabrian chiles, and cook it gently with shallots, garlic, bay leaves, and add white wine vinegar
Ok everyone! Itβs the 114th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic! Technically the anniversary will be tomorrow morning but I think tonight is appropriate to make a thread of autistic facts about the Titanic because it was my hyper fixation for several years! And away we go!!!
With the Habsburgs well... essentially they just fucked each other to the brink of extinction, and the ONLY way they survived to 2026 (they are still around) was by marrying people NOT closely related to them XD
History is a very intriguing thing to study because you learn facts like this
Plus studying how important the Czech Republic was to Europe as a whole because they offered financial aid to most of Central Europe and Italy during the High and Late Medieval periods. In fact the various lords and ladies of Bohemia rivaled the king for power which is crazy
Recently I've been studying the history of Kingdom Come Deliverance, the Habsburgs, and the Capetian Dynasty. I saw a documentary on how crucial the Capetians were to European history. Pretty much every modern European royal is a descendant of Hugh Capet.

This commission is so cute!!!!! πΊππ¦
So apparently my family comes from Jirny, I guess the name changed to Jirny or the Anglicized version is Jerny XD
I also have ancestors from all across Europe, alongside the Caucasus Mountains and Africa. I have ancestors who were African American and actually found documentation of it as well.
I'm an actual mutt both because I'm a Wusky and irl XD
Being partially or fully Ashkenazi Jewish, then converting to Lutheranism. This is because there was a decently sized Jewish population in Bohemia at the time and the surname Seidel has Jewish roots.
Plus genetic testing has shown I have traces of Ashkenazi Jewish markers in my autosomal results!

To add to this post I actually have other roots in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with me being a descendant of the Seidel family from Jerner, Czech Republic before immigrating to Germany then the US!
Genetic testing and other hints to our branch of the Seidel family-
I discovered this year that I'm related to Sigismund of Hungary and his brother Wenceslas IV through their grandparents with us sharing the same grandparents, meaning both of them are my first cousins!
So I did some family tree research this year and made a cool discovery that's tied to the video game series Kingdom Come Deliverance!!!
This game series is one of my favorites of all time, and I wish I had a better PC to run it on so I can play the new one! However, back to the discovery π
My hubby and I wanna taste it~
Exactly π
