We’ve invested in cutting down DM spam over the past week, so you should see fewer scammers and spammers in your inbox. Expect more improvements in this area as we build additional tooling.

Social media is in desperate need of innovation. Meta is only letting you have a slice of control over what you see because Bluesky is here building for you.

I would love for Bluesky to be able to hire an absolute team of gremlins, whose only jobs are to:

* Find networks of bots, spammers, misinfo groups, and smoosh them
* Write public posts (with some delay) about how they found + broke the efforts

I want Project Zero meets SCP foundation reports.

An Indian politician says scandalous audio clips are AI deepfakes. We had them tested Deepfake experts noted that AI can be used as a cover by politicians when embarrassing audio and video clips of them emerge.

An Indian politician is trying to do damage control on controversial comments he made by falsely claiming that an audio recording of him was deepfaked. Might be the first time this has happened; definitely won't be the last.

What is public and what is private on Bluesky?

Bluesky is a public social network.

Posts and likes are public.
Blocks are public.
Mutes are private, but mutelists are public lists. Your mutelist subscriptions are private.
Invites and invite trees are private.

Why are my posts, likes, and blocks public?

The AT Protocol, which Bluesky is built on, is designed to support public conversations. To make public conversations portable across all sorts of platforms, your data is stored in data repositories that anyone can view. This means that regardless of which server you choose to join, you’ll still be able to see posts across the whole network, and if you choose to change servers, you can easily take all of your data with you. This is what causes the user experience of Bluesky, a federated protocol, to be similar to all the other social media apps you have used before.

hey new users, Bluesky is a *public* social network

please read about data privacy and more in our User FAQ to help you get oriented! even though we require an invite code to create an account, you should treat any posts here as if it's a public blog

We will temporarily be pausing Bluesky sign-ups while our team continues to resolve the existing performance issues. We’ll keep you updated when invite codes will resume functionality.

We’re excited to welcome more users to our beta soon!

If you post it, they will come. Seriously. Don't let the fact that these new platforms are underpopulated stop you. Somebody has to be the first whoever on app whatever.

Now THIS is verification. Incredibly simple powerful concept. There are confusion issues for sure that benefit from a human moderator, but it unlocks it significantly to the whole audience.

Got to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 last night. It was a fitting conclusion to the Guardians trilogy and one of the best MCU films I've seen in a while. Like always, the soundtrack was magnificent. Thank you, @jamesgunn.bsky.social and wish you all the best with the DCU.

Does yours still end up with browning? Mine does from time to time.

In all seriousness Bluesky has taught me I actually want two things in a social media app: it barely works so I can’t use it all the time, and I can scroll to the end and feel done with it. Reliability and bottomless content are features everyone was dying to implement and actually both are curses

Despite the fact that we (in many cases) know better, we're inevitably going to have some security issues.

If you find one, please send us an email: security@bsky.app

If you want us to, we'll publicly credit you as a contributor!

(We likely will run a bounty program in the future, just not yet.)

Definitely! I haven't tried it in any other drink, but it's really smooth.Have you tried the brown sugar shaken with any modifications? If not, try adding a pump of white mocha or hazelnut next time 👀

Lately, it’s been the brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso with a pump of white mocha or hazelnut. The blonde espresso shots are standard in this drink.
