TRANSFORMERS SUPERLINK SANDSTORM SD-03 SANDSTORM (cyclonus)

Much like Demolisher, ive owned the original armada deco for a while, and am quite fond of these two molds, ad while I'd be very excited if HasTak made faithful updates to the two characters in whatever future generations line comes in the future, if can't bring myself to cut these molds out completely because thay are quite fun and hold a lot of sentimental value. So I got the rarer Superlink figures relatively cheap on Buyee, among other things!

And much like Demolisher/Ironhide This is one of the better aged mold compared to a lot of the original Armada Line up! With plenty of forward/backward articulation and even a waist swivel and ab crunch! Unfortunately outward movements and rotations on any of the limbs is virtually nonexistent. Despite that however hes weirdly expressive Despite the limited motion.

How about gimmicks? He's got plenty! The accompanying Crumplezone can act as an extended cockpit and gunmount for the front, as well as being able to attach to various minicon ports on cyclonus' body that can either launch missiles or reveal flip-out cannons! Though the central gimmick hes built around is a trigger on the tail, which when pulled spins the propeller blades on a geared mechanism that also goes all throughout the body and into a little slot in the front with exposed gears on the bottom, several minicons released in the line have an accompanying gearbox that can fit into that slot, and when the triggers pulled it activates some sort of motion gimmick, like spinning saws and drills or mimicking gunfire! Its a complex mechanism for a simple effect but damn does it add so much fun to this thing!

Overall this is definitely one of the best molds the armada line had to offer! And this white camo deco from energon is pretty great too! Though the blue and tan of the original is iconic. Hopefully it sees the light of day again!

TRANSFORMERS SUPERLINK SD-02 IRONHIDE
(Demolisher)

Demolisher here was definitely one of the better armada molds! Still packed with gimmicks like the launchable minicon and missiles, the seat for blackout to pilot him in tank mode. And various non-functioning ports to plug in various minicons. Whilst still having a semi-decent amount of articulation for the line, as many were bricked for the sake of the gimmicks. He can't move his head and theres zero outward movements or rotations on the arms, but you can give the legs a good spread exposing his demolussy, and due to transformation you can even bend his foot forwards! And by sheer coincidence you can fit blast effects on his fingers! Though its a bit tight!

One day im hoping HasTak will give us updates for him and his bottom cyclonus in whatever generations line comes in the future. But I am still quite fond of these original molds and their unspoken rizz, so why not get the rarer repaints from Superlink? Keep the original mold without necessarily having two of the same design! So we get all the benefits of armada Demolisher, now with that creamy constructicon green color scheme! And while he wears it well... I do think the original colors are more personable!

But regardless im so happy to have this guy! Got him and Sandsclonus on buyee among other things for pretty dang cheap! But with the state of shipping things overseas rn... I would not recommend it currently... great toy tho!

TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON MEGATRON

I own the studio series toys and I do quite like it! Does it have its flaws? Sure! But for the budget abd the design they had to work with, I think its a solid toy! HOWEVER! There is a certain itch that can only be scratched by the original release, and since i stumbled upon one during a trade, I figured why not!

This Megs is a solid fun little thing, with a surprisingly functional truck mode with a tilt at the trailer hitch despite it all being legs. Hes got the hold he wears made out of rubber, abd I love the windows being cast in this deep blood red plastic. Though idk why one sticks out of the panel on one side, thats an odd design choice...

I will say transformation is tactile and fun to do... except for the bumper shoulders. Because of the tabs that lock em into place in vehicle mode are tighter than both the joints actually keeping the pieces on the body, its far too easy to just rip em off and have to fiddle around with the baren joints instead of just moving them as intended which is really annoying! But the rest of the body's got good hand feel. And the robot mode is... fine? Hes got them tree trunk truck legs and no mass in the torso or arms, that coupled with the tiniest head in the world makes for a proportionally wonky robot mode! He doesn't even have 5mm compatible hands, hes got ports on his back and arms for mechtech weapons. Articulation is average, though the legs are a pain to work with given their girth, and his arms, at least on my copy, are too weak to keep his cannon lifted up...

Im very nostalgic for this toy... but damn is he kind of a mess looking back at it... id say still go for the studio series, but if you find him cheap... its a fun time! If not heavily dated.

TRANSFORMERS PRIME BEAST HUNTERS RIPCLAW

This ones a bit of a random purchase for me. A random marketplace listing local to me had her relatively cheap and figured since I had her as a kid, why not! A little bit of nostalgia value never hurt no one.

And honestly she's not a bad toy at all! As a transformer she's Hella bland! With a typical beastformer transformation of just standing her up and straightening her limbs, with a few neat tricks around the torso.
But if youre getting this toy, chances are it's for the looks, and that tail! A tail full of secrets abd gimmickry! Most obvious is the claw on the tip, which can be opened to a spring locked state with a button in the center in which you can use to automatically trap your enemy's and fingers upon contact! It can also be removed from the tail as a handheld weapon! Which adds great play value! But the tail has another secret! There's a hinge segment of the tail right at the base you can fold up to reveal a rubbery rail all the other segments are attached to! And you can adjust the whole thing to get some rubbery whip action! Or some non static poses during play! Its a great option though now theirs an obtrusion coming out of her back... youch!

And again, gimmicks aside she's a solid looking figure in both modes with smooth details, a wicked head sculpt, and a pretty cool color scheme we wouldn't see again until victorion! If I had any general complaints, its I wish her robot head could come up a bit to pose more, and the dragon head wasn't made of rubber also... it seems they shafted both the heads for the sake of the tail lol.

But yeah, not a bad figure! If you can find her cheap, id say its worth a pickup!

TRANSFORMERS TAKARA EZ GUM COLLECTION PROWL

Last one for the EZ lot I got recently, and the only one thats a new mold for me! Never handled the classic prowl mold in any color scheme, so how is it? Pretty basic as you'd expect. Hes got the iconic legion door arms, hood chest and folds legs, with the only real surprises being flip out toes and heels which can help with articulation a bit! With pretty standard legion articulation with no elbows or head movement. Meaning he's not great for poses and photos but is great as a tiny play thing you can fit in your pocket! And as far as the takara deco goes its pretty similar to the hasbro one but with a metallic flake finish all over the body!

Nothing special, but a fine addition to the legion shelf! Little toys rule!

TRANSFORMERS EZ GUM COLLECTION MEGATRON

Once again im here with another legion mold ive already owned and looked at, that iconic legion class G2 megatron from early generations that is, so far, the most accurate depiction of that original design since the original? Fuck hasbro really needs to give us a proper commander or leader class G2 megatron...

Anyway, Takara has given us this toy again with this SEEEXY deep metallic purple finish, mimicking the smaller G2 Combat Megatron. Still missing some of the decals that make that toy great, like the bright blue treads and highlights, and the big fucking "megatron rules!" Stucker on the chest. But for the size we vibin with a pretty good and timeless mold in one of the prettiest plastic colors ive ever seen on a transformers toy.

So fuck yeah, I love this! Megatron rules!

TRANSFORMERS EZ GUM COLLECTION OPTIMUS PRIME & HOT ROD

Some easy fellas today, bringing two takara repaints of molds ive already talked about in some nice shimmery color schemes! Got these two in a multipack of blind box figures and theres two more to talk about, but I wanna give them their own dedicated posts!

Starting off with prime! He's probably the least different than any of his standard hasbro releases, really the biggest difference is the legs, left unpainted and black which does offer a cooler look, always love the red and black deco primes, though I wish this ones head was also black so it was more uniform. Interestingly enough hes got a G2 autobot logo on him, so I guess he's supposed to be that G2 prime... neat!

Hotrod is a bit more interesting, with a metallic red shimmer all over and vibrant yellow flames, as opposed to the matte finish of the hasbro one, however I do wish he had a more vibrant orange on the hips and spoiler bc the metallic paint is too dark and blends in with the red too much. Still not a bad looking hotrod at all!

Two little legion figures in somewhat premium decos? Hell yeah! Though you gotta gamble for em, which does suck, but at least whatever you got in the boxes will be a banger! Such as the next review topic!

TRANSFORMERS BEAST WARS TRANSQUITO

The 90s were definitely something weren't they... the vibe was nasty and with it came several nasty looking transformers from the Beast era. Among them is this freak, with a monstrous predator-like face, hunched over waist and a mosquito alt mode! This thing just oozes that nasty 90's nightmare energy.

As a toy he does the job well enough as a transformer, with decent-ish articulation for the time, lacking wrist, waist, and ankle movement, and his balljoints are weak from time meaning he struggles to keep his arms up. And transformation is an easy and predictable affair, with the only real surprises being the spring loaded head that flips through the abdomen, and the secret "weapon mode" where a giant head deploys from his back turning the wings into giant mandibles. And his mosquito mode is... serviceable. Pretty cool looking though the robot arms are just right there, and the wings feel like they should move up and down but they don't. Or at least i don't wanna risk it.

Also beware! GOLD PLASTIC SYNDROME has effected copies of this toy, if he intrigues you at all, Make sure you get a copy intact and be careful during play. Honestly I didn't have interest in this guy much but recently got him in a bundle only needing to buy some legs. Not 100% my cup of tea for transformers, but hes got a charming to him that radiates a specific era!

TRANSFORMERS COLLABORATIVE X NARUTO KURAMA & GAMAKICHI

Listen... I'm a One Piece girly all day and night. Read a bit of the Naruto manga... wasn't my vibe and from what I hear from several people who've seen both, One Piece is overall a better story anyway. Am I opposed to eventually giving Naruto a second try? No, but it will be on my own time.

That being said, despite Naruto being huge, I think the overlay between Naruto fans and Transformers fans is VERY SMALL, that coupled with the toys themselves not being the greatest things in the world and its $50+ price point lead to this set ultimately failing and shelf warming badly. Thankfully I only spent five dollars at a walmarts clearance isle!

The toys themselves honestly are... fine. Its the kingdom cheetor mold so already hes limping behind on available molds people like. Not bad but the janky and lanky proportions, kibble that hinders arm articulation, and potential breakage issues on the beast mode neck already dont help its reputation, on top of that this color scheme is just so... bland... too much of this safety orange plastic only broken up by the tiniest amounts of Grey and black bits. Accurate to Naruto's outfit but on a robot it definitely needs way more paint. At least the new parts look nice. Love the beast mode head especially, very expressive, through the tails also feel cheap and lackluster.

Honestly his companion is so much more interesting, as an all new mold! (Clearly supposed to be a spittor/Divor pretool butbi dont think thats happening) but hes got crazy balljointed articulation, much richer colors, and honestly a cooler frog alt mode! What's not to love about him!? (Besides wasted potential) rest in piece core class...

Honestly even if i was a Naruto fan, this set at full price would've definitely dissapointed me. Im not mad for the five dollars I paid, but man... hopefully if they do a TRANSFORMERS × ONE PIECE set, they do it justice!

TRANSFORMERS PRIME CHANGERS MEGATRON

I can not be the only one whose hyping this thing up to people!? I know at least diaclona has talked about it briefly but like... I've seen so few posts about this guy... AND HE'S AMAZING!

First of all, hes the price of a 2020 deluxe at about $24USD, not even succumbing to the recent price hikes! And he's the only original mold released in this line up that consisted entirely of Cyberverse repaints aside from him. And as an evergreen stand alone deluxe height megatron. Hes so fun! With a transformation that takes elements from SS86 and siege, with some pretty good articulation on the go, with really only the head movement limited on a swivel without any up or down motion.

He is a bit on the shorter side unfortunately, he honestly scales best with that Legacy G1 deluxe optimus they released a while ago. Even though they dont match esthetically, if you want a deluxe set of the main faction leaders, this megs and that prime are probably your best bet!

Also not gonna lie, I'm having an absolute blast with the accessories! The fusion cannon is cool with the incorporated barrel extension and blast effect compatibility and included purple blast effect! But the Mace is really where its at! I didn't know how much i needed a soft rubber mace in my life till now! You get all the fun of swinging it around like an actual tiny chain, while still being stiff enough to stay static mid pose or on a shelf! Simple but genius honestly!

So yeah, want a smaller cheaper megatron in your life? This is your guy! A solid deluxe outing to put on your desk or give to a kid! A real sleeper hit if ever there was one!

TRANSFORMERS CYBERWORLD CYBER CHANGERS WHEELJACK, BUMBLEBEE, & STARSCREAM!

Hellllo clearance time! There's been many Cyberworld toys I've been holding off on buying because even though all these toys are cool, they are simple and samey, which means they're 10-16 dollar price point felt a little too steep for me on most of em. But Walmart had these on clearance for $7 which was MUCH more reasonable in my opinion (given the current economy)

Not much to say on an independent level however, wheeljack and bee are very similar with identical transformations and starscream, while engineered different, also functions exactly as you'd expect. Primarily transformation with one squeeze or movement. Honestly this is what Rescue Bots Rescan should've been but alas, we got what we got.

Of the three, I think bee is my favorite, love the off road design and the kinda TFP like head. Followed by wheeljack and starscream in last.

TRANSFORMERS STUDIO SERIES TF ONE AIRACHNID

Finally some (mediocre) fucking food from TF ONE! A toy that looks good, doesn't fall apart constantly, and has decent hand feel! Is she a little fiddly to transform? Yeah... And could she have benefited from being a voyager? Also yeah, I know why she's a deluxe because technically the model does scale better as a deluxe. But for the amount of engineering they crammed into this thing, it probably could've benefited from being a little bigger, probably would've helped with some of the fiddliness in the spider legs and hip panels.

Aside from that though she's really good! She's got decent posability and basically looks like her on screen model. And surprisingly enough she can stand on her own despite her thin freaky legs! Her spider legs are kinda useless honestly they look fine but are very akward to pose with an unusual joint layout and they cannot support her bodyweight if you want to suspend her with them.

Again transformation is a little fiddly but the resulting helicopter mode is pretty decent again for what all it has to do. Doesn't look nearly as bad as early photos made it out to be, but it still could've been cleaned up up front honestly. And overall it does make for a cool shaped vehicle thats fun to play with.

In terms of TF ONE toys, she's amazing! Stellar! Top tier! But in the grand scheme of things she's still pretty good. Definitely worth picking up IMO but might be one of those that could benefit from a modified KO or something I think!

TRANSFORMERS AGE OF THE PRIMES BRAWL

If ever there was a glow up from a previous entry... this is it! From 2016s flimsy thin deluxe to a brand new voyager here in 2026! All bulky and solid, though a little too solid in this case.

BE WARNED! As many have told you will need to modify this dude before playing with him, as there's a hinge in his torso (meant for combined mode) that is entirely too tight! Gotta sand the joint down a little so it doesn't just twist itself off... its a shame but once you fix it... OOOOOH we got one sexy robot! Not only does he represent the G1 design near perfectly, but hes just got that good solid chunky hand feel i crave! With solid enough articulation to match his bulk, albeit they skipped out on wrist movement again, and his head can't look up or down much at all. So dynamism isnt necessarily his strongsuit.

But what he does do phenomenally is his transformations! I LOVE transforming this dude back and forth between tank and robot mode. Love the toy where the legs or something unfurl into so many components and panels, like they're so dense with pieces you wouldn't expect like most of the treads and the bulk of the back of the tank. And the rest of him kind of just straightens out and tabs into place. And the resulting tank mode is a beefy motherfucker, with a fully functioning turret and plenty of slots for his cannon accessories for different looks! Hes got a leg mode too but for know its like... half a leg that can't really do anything or even balance on its own. Definitely needs Onslaughts skeleton component to do anything, which is fine bc whose really gonna just play with a foot on its own... you freaks!

Once again this whole set is shaping up amazingly! All great toys on their own but I cannot wait to finally form bruticus! Shaping up even better than the stunticons! And probably the arielbots from what I've heard!

TRANSFORMERS AGE OF THE PRIMES BLAST OFF

Oooooooh this team is shaping up real nicely! Between vortex who was on his own a pretty fun deluxe, and Brawl who ill be Reviewing soon too, and this guy... I can't wait to complete the set! But for Blast Off himself... he's simply a perfect deluxe version of the character! Everything from the simple but effective transformation, the articulation, the headsculpt even nailing the confusion between whats his eyes and what are his cheeks from the cartoon. If anything i just wish he had bigger cannons like the G1 toy had that'd be more noticeable in the shuttle mode. It may bother some that his hands are encased in the nosecone halves, or by the gaps in the legs and behind his head... but like... its a deluxe and it transforms and combines while looking and feeling good doing it, so those little things dont bother me one bit, and you tend to not really notice them while messing with him... really my biggest issue is the same as vortex and many figures lately, where there's no flight stand option for the flying vehicle they turn into.

Its a boring review this time but hey, thats what happens when a toy just... does its job sp perfectly! So yeah, two down, three more to go!!!

TRANSFORMERS AUTHENTICS BRAVO ELITA -1

Ah authentics... rest in peace I hardly knew ya. Yeah I know its still going but the new toys in the line are even shitter than the First batch of the same characters, and some of those original ones were actually pretty solid!
That being said elita is pretty... okay I guess. Not the worst (bumblebee) but with her extremely hollow legs, lack of heels, and lack of elbows or a neck... she could've done way better even for the budget. She's giving diet Cyberworld honestly with the lack of elbows and a transformation that really only involves like two big steps into an actually cool looking alt mode. Its a very cutely shaped car and the plastic separation does the job well enough to give it a vibrant deco. Despite the only paint being the headlights and windows...

She's fine i guess, if you ever catch her in retail in the cheap stores like dollar general or family dollar or whatevs, she might be a fun pick up. Assuming they're still 5-6 dollars.

TRANSFORMERS AGE OF THE PRIMES SURESHOT w. Spoilsport

Im so stoked sureshotnis finally here after actual years of him supposedly being meant to be included in one of the legacy or even kingdom toylines several years back with who knows what stopping him from actually coming out, but he's here, and we got two thirds of the original targetmaster trio! (Not counting siege crosshairs bc i dont have him and also i think he deserves an update that better matches the other two)

Hes a pretty solid deluxe! Plastic is a little thin but far from feeling fragile or flimsy, and its to be expected as they actually included his targetmaster buddy! Spoilsport is extremely simple as was Peacemaker in legacy, but im just happy hes here at all. And I dont wanna pay a whole 5-6 dollars for them to make an individual release, this is fine! As for Sureshot himself hes pretty aight. With fair articulation, barring wrists due to budget is presume. But all his other joints are super smooth and free moving, except with the arms do be careful with those spoiler pieces, they WILL pop off those shallow pegs they're connected to. Im also surprised at the sheer lack of backpack hes rockin'. With basically just the wheels back there it leads to a super dynamic feeling bot! Only other thing I can complain about is the colors, I desperately wish there was more breakup amongst the pure yellow and red plastics.

Overall though hes great! If you care about the character or just want a cool looking autobot to fill your ranks, hes not a bad option at all! Happy hunting!

TRANSFORMERS AGE OF THE PRIMES AMALGAMUS PRIME

Everyone was curious as to how a design like this was going to be achieved, and given what the character is supposed to be, as a transformer with no set form and a constantly changing appearance and infinite transformations... they did... okay I think.

He is a cool toy dont get me wrong. I love his base robot mode actually. Hes an unusual build with a hunch back, four arms, claws, and digigrade legs! Honestly his build reminds me of Angry Birds Shockwave of all things. And is articulation is... adequate for a design built like this is guess, though I wish he had forward butterfly shoulder joints so all his arms could reach beyond his face easier.

But let's talk the core gimmick of this toy... modular transformations! Supposedly aside from the two alt modes presented in the instructions, you can make ANY mode you can think of using his detachable limbs and various pegs, ports, and slots all over his body. And ive been able to come up with a few like a bird, a tank, and various aircrafts... but he also does feel... extremely limited. There are actually only so few pieces to work with as well as only so many accessible places to put them. On top of that the torso unit is just... a huge chunk of robot with only a few moving panels... meaning it really can't do shit on its own merits and is more or less just a hub for his limbs. And technically he can become even more modular if you've got toys like the weaponizers, fossilizers or modulators from the WFC trilogy. But forbwhat hes supposed to do, i want MORE! More joints, more ports, more removable pieces... more SOMETHING to really unlock his full potential!

Again, hes a fine toy, and if you've got creativity you'll probably have a heyday with this thing. But he could've been better. Hes a solid 7/10 i think, and hes far from the worst prime toy out there, at least he isnt boring!

TRANSFORMERS STUDIO SERIES 86 WINDCHARGER

Hasbro has yet again knocked it out of the park with another banger mini bot mold! And to think i almost skipped out on it because its personally dont care about the character THAT much and had the potp one. But I caved and hes amazing. He doesn't really pull any super new tricks we've haven't seen before. But it is all done super well and smooth making conversion a fun experience back and forth. And of course hes got all the movement you'd want from a bot this size, including an unexpected but welcome face tilt that acts as a neck for his boxy head design, which is pretty neat i gotta admit!
He comes with a really cool looking blast effect too that can either be displayed on his chest of the front of the car, or stored away in the back. However its unique shape means its versatility is limited to only those spots and can't be used like your average blast effect, which sucks but its whatever, windcharger can have his own magnet thing! And his only other accessory is a dinky little gun. Nothing special but gets the job done, a tiny gun for a tiny man!

As has been the case with Studio Series, especially the 86 line for a while, they've made their "perfect" representation of the character which leaves little to talk about. Hes a good transformers toy and is worth getting if you want him! Chances are if they make a Tailgate out of him I'll probably nab that too!

Not much to talk about with these two, they're adorable little round plushes of prime and bee that you can turn inside out as equally as round vehicles Kinda silly, not worth their $10 retail asking price though. But thankfully I grabbed em on sale for $3 a piece so for that price I cannot complain
