Q: Is the US considering withdrawing from NATO?
LEAVITT: It's something the president has discussed and I think it's something the president will be discussing in a couple of hours with Secretary General Rutte

Is the open Strait of Hormuz in the room with us right now?
My friend @rokhanna.bsky.social is absolutely right.
When the President of the United States threatens genocide against millions of innocent people, Democratic leadership should stand in clear moral opposition — not hide behind procedure.

NEW: Hospitals in Beirut are now posting photos of children in an attempt to identify their parents.
This photo was shared by senior Al Jazeera producer, Suddaf Chaudry.
Hospitals are also appealing for blood donations.
Israel’s actions in Lebanon today have been another stain on humanity.
BREAKING: Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz in response to Israel’s large-scale strikes on Lebanon today, according to The Associated Press, citing Iranian state media.
The White House says the Iranian state media reports are false, adding the U.S. does not view Lebanon as part of the ceasefire.
Iran says Lebanon is part of the ceasefire. The U.S. and Israel say it is not. This is why real diplomats spend considerable time on joint communiques. Each side will always spin agreements to their domestic audiences. But you can’t have disputes over fundamental matters like entire theaters of war.
Trump lied to the Pakistani PM about Lebanon being included in the ceasefire.
Trump lied to Iran about supporting its 10 point plan.
All because he was panicking his way out of his genocidal deadline.
Now, Iran is refusing to attend peace talks in Islamabad until Lebanon attacks cease.
Disaster.

Someone, anyone, please put this guy in a place where he can't hurt anyone anymore.
No Kings in the City of Angels. #NoKings
It is the end of democracy if we don’t tax Elon Musk and his fellow billionaires at a punishing rate and limit the amount of money anyone can spend to influence politics.

MAGA supporter: “I feel so betrayed.”
The truth is, people like Giuseppe chose to believe Trump, even though he was clearly lying. Clearly a bigot. Clearly an authoritarian in waiting.
If that’s you, take a hard look at yourself. Don’t blame Trump’s trickery.
Reportedly the E-3 that was hit at Prince Sultan Airbase.
The headlines calling this “damaged” significantly undersold the impact.
Obliterated.
Beyond inspiring to hear @brucespringsteen.net sing “Streets of Minneapolis” today at the Minnesota State Capitol for No Kings Day 3.0!
Here’s a small clip from his amazing performance:
Trump closed the investigation of the guy that allegedly attempted to assassinate him…
Let that shit sink in for a minute.
Still think it wasn’t staged?!
Good job, America! 👇
Let’s. Do. This. 😎✨

NYT, LAT, Washington Post and Minnesota Star Tribune all cover protests prominently
NY Daily News, Philly Inquirer, La Opinión LA and El Diario NY all cover protests very prominently
Newspaper covers from around U.S. on No Kings protests. Many papers did a good job of putting massive protests front & center. Others completely ignored on page 1.
@mediaanddemocracy.bsky.social.
Strong coverage: NYT, LAT, WaPo, MN Star-Tribune, NYDN, Philly Inquirer, LA La Opinión, NY El Diario.
We made history. It's official. Today was the single largest day of protest in U.S. history. The regime wants us terrified: instead, we are organizing.
The regime wants us terrified; instead, we are organizing.
The work now is to channel the energy from #NoKings into hyper localized organizing. Meet your neighbors if it’s safe to do so, and start a group chat on Signal. It’s up to all of us.
Solidarity. #WeSayNoKings
This protest sign in Porto, Portugal is amazing!

Never stop talking about this... even after he's dead.
Robert DeNiro, Attorney General Leticia James, and Rev. Al Sharpton led the No Kings March in New York City. They marched down 7th Avenue in Manhattan, holding a banner.
One of many VICTIMS.
How is this guy president..
What Trump has done so far to help fight crime in NYC:
* Cut our FEMA anti-terror funding
* Cut our DOJ gun violence prevention grant
* Proposed cutting our DOJ funding for hate crime response
* And most importantly: Refused to lift a finger to stop the flow of guns into NYC from other states
there is a reason why most authoritarian regimes try to avoid traditional legal routes and you're beginning to see why
Illinois political leaders and Chicago municipal officials are raising alarms over President Trump’s threat to deploy National Guard troops to the city. NBC News' Shaquille Brewster spoke with Illinois Gov. Pritzker, who insisted there is “no emergency" that warrants troops being sent to the city.
And have you even said “thank you,” DC?
