Can “Locum” GP’s get jobs as full time GP’s ie is it just the Locum positions that are being restricted to get better value for money? I’d be interested to know how may full time vacancies are available compared to normal to understand what’s going on a bit better.

I think autonomy and reducing suffering in those who are dying are ultimately the key principles which I support. I do worry that there could be a drift in societal expectations so we hopefully will see the HoL test the protections for those who may feel they are a burden in their final months.

This is a tricky area of medical practice. I’ve not known anyone who was in this position and I think good palliative care should mean the provisions are rarely required. However palliative care must have its shortcomings for some, even if provided.

Hello everyone!

If you have any lists of prostate cancer docs to follow do let me know.

I think I’ll try and stick to Urology and fun stuff on here. But the politics of life / health might creep in.

Assisted dying seems to be the topic of the day. Will the new bill provide enough safeguards?
