Comic page from my series Modern Carapace. In the light of morning, a rusted highway sign is covered in birds. Each panel is the same angle. In the third panel the birds fly off. In the fourth, a shadow appears on the sign. In the fifth, the mecha Tarantula Hawk 2 crashes through the sign, leaving twisted metal behind. In the last few panels, the birds return to perch on what’s left of the sign.

A page gag I’ve had in mind for a long time that I finally found a place for in the next short Modern Carapace story. Inspired by seeing pigeons on the highway on my way to work in the morning.

But it literally was cause they they had Hulk, Ms Marvel and a Racoon right at the end saying "Shang Chis rings are sending a sequel signal that will definitely be paid off."

Every Marvel property this phase has set up an aborted storyline, bar Moon Knight and Daredevil.

It's less about it as homework it's more that we've been setup so much Kang stuff, and it went nowhere, and now we're retconning Doom setup in the last decent Avengers movie, and they want us to pay IMAX money to see it all over again, cause money.

Both greedy and a waste of time it feels like.
