It’s a Pennsylvania throwdown for the first round of the playoffs.
Let’s go Pens. Bring this one home! 🐧
(…I really need to stop looking at playoff tickets…)
Indie Authors! I’m very open to working with hybrid authors, so don’t be afraid to query me with your currently self-published novel. TriadaUS has an incredible subrights department and I’m happy to consider indie authors who want to take their careers to the next step! For any currently self-published works, please include current sales figures (or pages read on KU) with your query!
Query Me! I’ve always said I love being surprised by books I never knew I wanted — and this is *still* true. Who knows, I may love a rival chef romance or... even (gasp) a vampire romantasy! I ask that you just warn me if parental death is a prominent aspect of your book so I’m not caught by surprise. I’m going to do my best to respond to all queries within 6 weeks of receipt. queryme.online/mferrara
Visual #MSWL Part 3
Romance On the lookout for queer and straight romances of any heat level! I’m not a fit for books where the central conflict could have been solved if the two just talked. More than anything, I want books that feature that beloved “Oh. Oh.“ moment when that epiphany happens. Also, the quasi-adopted Brit would love projects set in the UK (bonus points if it’s set in Wales.) Tropes I adore: - There was only one bed - Fake Dating / Marriage of convenience - One didn’t know they were dating - Forced proximity - Grumpy meets sunshine - Enemies to Lovers
Romance Romances don’t have to be strictly contemporary. A little light fantasy is welcome. In my fandoms I’m a sucker for a good soulmate AU — so if you’ve found a twist on that send it to me! Supernatural creature falling for a human? Gimme! Sports Romance! My hockey-loving heart is very happy that so many people are watching hockey. I’m less about rivalries and more about team bonds. Give me all the SidGeno vibes. I’ve also been following Premier Leage (football) soccer since college (Glory Man United and the reds go marching on!) so I’m also a fit for books about the most beautiful game!
Fantasy Karen Marie Moning was my gateway to urban fantasy back in the day (followed by Gena Showalter and Anne Bishop). Fave Creatures! I will always love books featuring the fae. Werewolves (and other shifters) have definitely grown on me over the past few years. Sorry, vampires (unless you have a fresh take on the mythology) are still a no go. I’d also love books that feature lesser-seen characters (like Valkyries or Selkies) or those rooted in non-Western mythologies! I still have a soft spot for retellings (especially non-western folklore) — that said I’d love to find a modern take on Cupid & Psyche.
Fantasy & Horror Cozy fantasy is also very beloved. If it’s the sort of book best enjoyed with a warm blanket and a steaming cup of tea, send it my way! Dark Fantasy / Horror! There’s very little that I’ll turn my nose up at when the books start getting darker in content. I just ask that you have trigger warnings for body horror, torture, animal cruelty, or abuse so I know what I’m in for when I start to read. I’d prefer not to see books that strongly features violence against women or other marginalized communities.
Visual #MSWL Part 2!
Moe's Spring #MSWL Seeing me at a conference soon? Stalking socials to see what I’m looking for when I re-open to queries? You’ve come to the right place!
I Have A Website! After almost eleven (!!) years in the industry, I’ve finally joined the 21st century and designed myself a website. Check it out for my up to date MSWL calls as well as client and illustrator updates. #TeamMoe has some pretty amazing projects coming up! www.moeferrara.com
Kidlit Updates: Picture Books & Graphic Novels: This year I will only consider projects by author/illustrators. No text-only projects. Please include a link to your dummy with your query or else it won’t be considered. Middle Grade & Young Adult: While I will always be open to MG/YA clients, this year I’m prioritizing crossover YA and New Adult projects.
Adult Updates: Yes, I'm getting back into Adult Fiction! This year, I’m on the hunt for rom-coms, fantasy, urban fantasy, romantasy, light horror, or anything with a speculative bent. Character ages can range from fully adult to crossover/new adult. Right now my MSWL is pretty broad as I hone in on exactly what I want. AKA, unless it’s on my anti-MSWL, send it my way! Anti-MSWL (AKA, what *not* to send me) - Women’s Fiction - Upmarket Fiction - Literary Fiction - Hard Sci-Fi - Military-centric - Thrillers - Epic Fantasy
I'm mostly hanging out on threads these days (come follow me over there! Though, tbh, threads is mostly "moe yells about hockey" 🐧 )
Guess who has opened to queries again! Click through the posts here for my visual #MSWL. #querytrenches #queryingauthors #amagenting

Absolutely had the BEST time at my first @penguinsnhl.bsky.social game today.
Shout out to the woman behind us with the big head Crosby wearing bunny ears! 🐰

After 10+ years of rooting for my boys — finally heading down to PPG for a game. I waited until we knew Sid was back because if this is the last season (it better not be) to have Sid, Geno, and Letang together… I wanted to see them play in person. 🐧 🖤 💛
A huge, huge congratulations to @bailierosenlund.bsky.social (and the rest of the Avengers Academy team!!!) on their @glaad.bsky.social Media Award for Best Comic Book! @marvelcomicshqs.bsky.social @triadaus.bsky.social

Always love getting to see the Erie Otters play. (I’ve also watched so many hockey games this weekend between the Oilers and the Pens it’s not funny) 🏒
Being awake before 8AM on a Sunday.
The things I do for hockey. #olympics
(No comment on who I’m rooting for.)
I’ll also be in Cleveland next weekend! 👀
Highlights from #thundergong this year! And a HUGE congratulations to @stepsoffaith.bsky.social for raising over $1M to support amputees!
Can’t believe I got to see the one and only Piggy Stardust — and Weird Al sing Amish Paradise!
Already excited for next year! 💙💙
What else do you do whilst in Kansas City than eat your weight in BBQ?
Tune in tomorrow for the next exciting update from the land of BBQ.

One of the #NYCC highlights: meeting the one and only President Bartlet.
And talking to him about the importance of books. It’s a conversation I’ll never forget.
Hats off to @karenhallionkenney.bsky.social because he *laughed* when he saw the sticker.

Kansas City — here we come! Cannot wait to have the third best night of my life at this year’s #Thundergong. @stepsoffaith.bsky.social
(Has to be third best… since the best night was last year… and the second best night of my life was with Brett Goldstein…)

So excited to head back to KC this year for one of the most fun evenings I’ve ever had.
(The fact that this is mid-filming and likely to be even more mind-blowing of a night is irrelevant.)

Whilst in London, decided it was time to update my headshots. Mostly because my hair hasn’t been red/black in about 4 years.
Big thanks to @mirnell.bsky.social for taking a great pic!
We found a windmill!

When in Amsterdam one must see the important sites.
Namely Ted Lasso filming locations. (Ahem)

When I say this is all I’m going to be talking about soon…
(Also seriously guys. I’m in London in June. You couldn’t have started production a month earlier???)
And I couldn’t be prouder seeing McDavid with the winning goal. Got to watch him for years with the #ErieOtters when he was just getting his start.

Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte singing on SNL50
Seeing Will Forte and Jason Sudeikis singing together on #snl50 — I want nothing more than to be back in KC for #thundergong right about now.
I am SO READY for the Down Under eye candy.
👀 oh do WE need to talk.
