Sam (love of my life) and I went to a comedy event that was so bad, so annoying, and so overwhelmingly straight that we left after 8 minutes. (We were also 40 minutes late to it to begin with.)

Completely agree. That said, I've read two great cannibalism novellas in the past year, so there are some exceptions for me.
