I think the part that pisses me off most about it is when they specifically say they are going to make food I can eat and even run parts of it by me and then SURPRISE they put in the thing that could make me really sick or even risk sending me to the hospital. What the fuck?
It's kind of wild that I always make sure the food I make is safe for others, but some people literally never do it for me. I only have a couple hard limitations because of serious health conditions.
Life has thrown me a lot of curve balls, I'm so grateful this went right. I really needed that. So when I get the test back in around a month and a half, I'll let y'all know what subtype I have. Could be bad news, but any news means we know what we are dealing with finally.
After all the hoops and doctors who didn't feel confident enough to confirm it and all the stress because the waiting period normally to see a rheum is a nightmare, it was the easiest appointment of my life. I literally cried from relief after because I thought it would be another disappointment.
Which reminds me, I finally am getting my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome diagnosis confirmed. It's been sitting in limbo for years. But I finally saw a rheum who could diagnose it. Took all of five minutes for him to say "That's definitely EDS" and order my gene test right there in office.
Also, if anyone knows of an EDS support discord already, send it my way please 🫶 I promise I'm usually not so cranky. I just had a moment where I thought I'd give that sub another try after years of not touching it and I don't know what I was expecting honestly..
If you are struggling with EDS and looking for a support group, don't bother with that sub. It's just going to make you feel like crap. If I had the spoons I'd start my own discord support group for it, because the only other options are on Facebook tbh.
Having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is rough enough, but the mods make interacting in that community awful. It feels like the only posts they ever approve are vent posts or certain forms of medical advice. Hell, even a lot of the users are just so damn negative.
You know, I usually enjoy most of the reddit communities I participate in but you know which one (which SHOULD be a helpful community) can eat absolute ass? R/ehlersdanlos. There isn't a single experience in that reddit community that has been positive or helpful for me.
Holy fuck, thats a big yikes. Also now I have a growing spite in me to put the most important details in the prologues and epilogues from now on. I can find a way to make it work lol.
Spent the last couple hours trying to fix my health care because they cancelled on me before the end of my renewal period. At least its fixed, but my insurance said they did this to a ton of people and that's pretty fucked up.
