The Gamecube had some great exclusives, but missed some of the bigger hitters on rival consoles, and the limited capacity of the smaller discs was probably the reason. I think I read somewhere that Nintendo opted for the mini discs as a piracy prevention measure.

A few years ago on Twitter (back when it was good) I did a countdown of my top games of all time, Burnout 2 made it all the way to No6. Loved it so much I got a PS2 especially for 3, despite that I've still never finished it. Dominator is my personal favourite these days.

Game 6 of 2026 crossed off, Driver: Parallel Lines.
Didn't enjoy this as much as I remember doing 20 years ago. Better than Driv3r ๐ This is an okay-ish GTA clone with some decent 70s music to start. The dual timeline is a cool feature and it's interesting to see how the city changes over time.
There's Aqua Moto Racing Utopia which is an alright modern take on the series but again, nowhere near as good as the N64 ๐ (although I did enjoy the snowmobile game from the same dev team)
8-bit Sonic was the game I had built into my first Master System back in Xmas '91. Didn't play the 16-bit game until December 1993.
8-bit version worth playing?
Don't make me tap the sign ๐

Looks a pretty solid lineup. No 1/10 contenders there, although I know sweet FA about UnMetal so could be wrong.
It's a shame that the planned sequel ended up becoming Kane & Lynch...
I can't think of too many water based racers either, so it'd be a toss-up between Blue Storm and the original Hydro Thunder. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Really tempted to get a decent sound system and start a new game of Black...

Glad to see more people appreciating what the game has to offer when I mentioning it
About Me: Games Galore
Alt text has the games if you can't see the small text!
Heard about it recently, have picked up the Chilling Cut hack of it to try. Translates to English and slows down the in-game clock. Those 7 days pass quite quickly in the original, doesn't offer as much freedom to just explore as you'd like so this mod relaxes things slightly.

There's a few I could name but this one has to be my ๐ of underrated games. Hardly ever hear it mentioned unless I'm talking about it. Shame about the planned sequel
In fairness I haven't played any of the Nintendo/Capcom ones for comparison, although I have played and did highly enjoy the Xbox 360 remaster of Ducktales. Saying that, I still love replaying Lucky Dime Caper more, it's one I come back to over and over.
Is this even a question?? ๐
That's probably the look I got from my Infant 2 peers when they asked what 'computer' I had, and I bragged about having this when they were talking Master Systems and NESses. Always was late to the new console party ๐
I had one of these as a nipper so I was used to keys in alphabetical order
Managed to avoid the worst of them, but I have given this one a spin. Being in 2D it's not *as* bad as its PS2 counterpart, but still not one I'll be rushing back to anytime soon.
I understand the recency bias but all the same it's very surprising to not see a single Zelda game there, even the Switch ones. Definitely not a very broad field of participation
Definitely polled modern PlayStation fanboys
There was a sequel planned, but some cleverdick decided it would be better off as Kane & Lynch ๐ก
Definitely if you like shmups, I like it a lot although it seems to have gone mostly under the radar at the time. And how many games can you describe with "shmup" and "relaxing" in the same sentence? ๐
Not on my PS2 ๐ญ
I think there is an emulator that runs On OPL for PS1 games, but it seems a ballache to set up. I'll give it a go when I have an emulation tablet that has the clout to run Duckstation well

Six games I think deserve more love. What are your most underrated games and have you played any of these?
Not played any of these, though I've been interested in Urban Chaos a while. Same with Chase the Express, tempting me to buy a PS1 to play it on. Tried it emulated on my Luma 3DS but it had a massive black border around the screen so I'm there like
I remember this one because it was the first "unofficial" copy of a game I'd owned, that a lad in school sold me for a fiver. Was a blast in multiplayer but I did miss a proper single player campaign on it.
Get on it now and play with Dave for the review ๐
Blanc (Switch) looks an interesting co-op game, thing is it's ONLY co-op. No single player.
Co-op themed month? I mean, there are some good ones to balance it out...
I can't do it anymore, I have to stop by 10pm. Even if I'm playing a 10/10 masterpiece and reach the final boss that time, it has to wait till morning.
